Both were shot with the 50mm f1.8, one mounted normally the other one with a reverse lens mount. |
Beautiful bokeh from the 50 1.8. :thumbs up
@pachchu: IMHO, it could have been taken from a lower angle showing the wings better. :)
I am not sure on this one, although i like the effect.

@Hellwrath: Really liked the colors on the firebug shot. How did you reverse mount the lens, did you buy an adapter or you made yourself one.

How do you get such bokehs ? I havent tried yet. Your previous post begs for a subject in the shot, just my feel. :thumbs up

I think I have an idea. Y'day when I was shooting butterflies, there was a cluster of trees in the back and a window of light coming thru the branches of that. when the butterflies were in focus, the out-of-focus light in the back created a similar bokeh.
in case of CD image, it's probably low power colored light-sources gone out-of-focus...

Thanks Shaju.
I get your point. The bee in the picture was actually leaving its nest. But neither the bee nor the nest is clear in the picture.

Its coloured LED lighting (Coloured 'rice lamps' for decorations). Shot with manual focus when it was fully out of focus. :)

That's a sharp shot again, you captured the wing-span well. Was this bird (sorry, don't know the species, falcon maybe) flying low?

I think its called 'black kite' (milvus migrans). Its very common throughout bangalore, even around houses. About the height, either it should fly lower or I should fly higher to get a shot of that ground clearance :). Luckily a flock of them were busy fishing for their breakfast, so I saved my wings. If I was bit more patient (may be few hours) I could have got one of them with a fish in its mouth:thumbs up

Thanks TG, thanks to the sigma 70-200 ! I got a 2x teleconverter that can take me upto 400mm at f/5.6, hopefully making me eligible to tag along with important personalities when they explore wild wild forests, atleast as a support boy. Hope you read the full post :).
Btw, your shot is through a UWA ? Please give some tips, its superb.
How is this one ???Taken by me at the time of onam.
Camera used -Nikon COOLPIX L21
I liked this picture Because of its contrast
