Interestingly we then went to Goa from Mumbai and there too at the monuments same stupid rules. No tripods.
If one needs to use a tripod at ASI protected or maintained site, one has to seek permission before hand in writing (which may take months to materialise).
Strange rules and reasoning. |
Yes, this is true. Many ASI monuments dont allow tripod.
You may know there are many varieties of tripod. Although we carry normal light weight ones, many TV guys carry a massive tripods which are heavy.
These tripods have sharp bottom mounts. Unlike the smaller ones which are rubberized. So the tripods destroy the surface where they are mounted.
To protect the monument a blanket ban is in place.
Such cases, pocket tripod may come in handy.
Another night shot

Same here. All this time I was under the impression it must be done quoting some security issue. This probably makes sense. Even the cops at Gateway asked me if I am from media
So maybe that is the reason why they dont allow Tripods
Took it at Tarkarli beach

Those are actually people playing in the water. I used a wide angle lens to get the shells in focus and throw everything quite far. This is the reason people appear as birds :D. I wanted to remove them from the scene but then thought, they anyways are looking like birds.
I am not much of a people shooter, but sometimes I experiment.
Shot today; added some blur effect with Picasa.
She loves water; was shooting JPEG, not happy with the WB; but happy with the timing.

Posting after a long time, another bird image.
