This link just takes me to my Google profile. No mention of G+ there. Am I missing something?

If you already have a google account, you should be able to see a (your first name)+ sign on top row; that should be G+ account

Cant see anything unfortunately. There was this sign, earlier in the day (I think) and when I clicked on it, it just redirected me to the plus home page, with the "keep me posted" thingy.

Sorry for the confusion. I think it worked only for the people I had sent invites to.

Re: Google+, A new competitor to Facebook

The Google plus situation right now reminds me of the time when I got my first email account, it was back in 1993. I was all excited about the email account, but I had nobody to email, nobody I knew had an email ID. It took a few months before I could find friends to email.

Same thing happening with G+, I am in and most of my friends aren't.

If you are in, you should start sending invites to all your friends on Google Contacts; That's the best way to get them here; the technological advances over FB will slowly become evident over period of time. Few I noticed -
1. Gifs play immediately
2. Long status messages easily displayed
3. Circles is incredible; lets me choose in a jiffy who I want the message to be displayed to or not
4. Size of displayed pictures on screen is more eye friendly
5. hangouts is something totally new, though I don't know how much i will enjoy it at my age... lolz
6. If you are a Gmail user, you don't need to open new window to view G+ notifications; It pops up on top bar

more to come...

Re: Google+, A new competitor to Facebook

When gmail rolled out it was special to get an invite. Now it feels stupid from Google to think that old trick will work. I fear many not even willing to try g+ frustrated waiting for an invite. Hope G+ Fails.

Re: Google+, A new competitor to Facebook

My apologies for the previous post. I think that needs to be done through IE only, not firefox.
Quote:
IE user go to https://plus.google.com/u/0/me and sign in for Google+
Safari User just go to www.google.com/+ and sign in using Gmail username.
Chrome Users install Google Plus plugin and click g+ logo and sighn up.. all of u do it fast... Google is patching holes...

What version of IE are you using? I tried with IE6; it doesn't work. So, probably the Version must be creating a problem.

Don't you use Chrome?

I used IE 8. Installed the plugin on chrome, i get the following on chrome :

Google+, A new competitor to Facebook-snap1.jpg

When I click on it, I am just redirected to the usual "Wait for this, we are creating an unnecessary hype" page. Spitfire sent out an invite to me today morning, but apparently invites arent going through in many cases.

EDIT : just noticed that the TBHP watermark is covering the picture. Actually its the G+ logo with the "1 new notification" thingy.
