Thats why even 35mm 1.8 is preferred for potraits by some on crop sensor bodies.

one can try Tammy 17-50mm F/2.8 lens if its for indoor usage. i guess that will be better choice for indoor full body clicks. One of my friend has it and he is quite happy with that. AFAIR Shaju had it as well.

I had the Sigma 18-50 f/2.8, which is same as Tamron. Perfect lens for all kinds of stuff. I sold my DX lenses in a span of 6 months with the idea of FX body in mind. The idea was a dream, a hope, a concern, a worry and now its fulfilled :)

Sometimes you want to take full body potraits. Though face is more common, its not unusual for some shoots to have full body shots.

1. Why is the word "macro" added to Nikon 60mm f/2.8 lens description?
2. Can i shoot portraits too with this "macro" lens, since it comes very close to the recommended 85mm focal length for portraiture?

Well, a quick question to the experienced DSLR handlers:

The rains are here. What do you do to protect your camera? As for me, I am inspecting lenses every three days, not shooting in the rain. My camera with lens attached is in a carry around bag with silica gel in it. The reason I ask is because I have taken to carrying the bag around with me, even to office, so that I can get some good shot if possible.

You can reheat silica pouch either in sun or in microwave for its moisture to disappear.

If you want very good quality, always reusable silica pouch then go to some hearing clinic. They sell such silica pouch for safety of hearing aids. When it has moisture absorbing capacity, it will appear blue, once it is full of moisture, it will change its color to white. Then you have to reheat in microwave or direct sunlight for regaining its properties and color will again change to blue.

Hi,

I could not connect to that forum, but what I guess you are trying to show me is an example of a full length portrait. I have searched through the web for 'portraits' and most have face / bust only. I was not aware of this term, tsk has clarified that. Thanks for your inputs as well and apologies if I have misread your communication.

Got the new D90 delivered at my door step, and am loving every bit of it. Here are the couple of first shots:

Does anyone know any person/shop who sell old lens like helios/jupiter in Bangalore? I saw some lens in ebay.in.

Are the prices reasonable (1500-4000)? Has anyone dealt with this person?

I could see adapters for M42 to EOS (Canon) in ebay.in. But I don't see adapters for Olympus (OM)/Minolta/Pentax lens to EOS body in ebay India. Which is the cheapest way to get them?
