Sony used to come out with 34" CRT, till last year but i guess with the foray of the so called cheap LCDs..they no longer market 35" crt, u can check out with the Sony dealer. Try panasonic, they are better at the picture quality.

Samsung had one 29" CRT with 100 Hz scan too good but they discontinued that model, still other available 29" Samsung are the best.
Yesterday saw ad of LG 32" Plasma which is India's smallest Plasma and quite cheap too just 31K with exchange of 29" TV, which i feel is wise decission.
Dont go for Sony as they charges for their premium brand name.Their LCD's simply sucks.Even many cheaper options like Phlips and LG feels better then that.Samsung is the TV to buy.

Friends,

Any idea/feedback about Sharp televisions? I have to buy a T.V and am planning to go for a 29" CRT T.V. Some suggested a SHARP t.v. which apparantly comes with a 7 year warranty and is good.

Thanks,
Biju

Compare a 34 inch Wega with a LCD or Plasma counterpart and you will know why. Picture quality is miles ahead.

The 34" Sony has a 100Hz refresh rate. If you are talking of response times etc in a LCD, then the same is here on the 34" CRT too. Unless there is a super strong signal (ideally from a DVD playerz), the picture will not be as clear as it is on a normal 50hz CRT.

EL I think he is talking about ordinary cable television here which looks pathetic on LCD's/Plasma's or about the TN panel Computer LCD's which have a limited colour range. Ideally a CRT has better response times( truth be told response time is not a term used for CRT's) than an LCD whereas Plasma is almost equal to CRT's in this regard if not better.

100 HZ improves picture quality read more about it here. The right thing would be to get a 100 Hz Tv with digital scan.

You should be able to land a samsung 29" for less than 12k for exchange. Enjoy.

If you are looking at 50 Hz, all models are equal. Just choose one which appeals to you most.
