Thank you Sir for the offer, will keep that in mind if I have any issues with the printer in the warranty period.

And since you in this business, may I ask you about cartridge refilling? Cartridge world is offering to refill canon cartridges at Rs450/- per cartridge, but they guaranteeing that the cartridge will last at least 10 times.

Is Rs.450/- a good price? If I get it refilled at half the rate from somewhere else and the cartidge only lasts me 5 times, the 6th time I can buy a new cartidge. What makes more sense to you?

Please advise!!!

Thanks and regards.

cartridge will not last 10 times. It has a rated capacity. If you refill it it to gills and pressure is not matched, it will spill out.

But yes if you are not into DIY, it better to do it professionally. and all this refill shops that have opened uses good quality inks, thats what their business is based on.

Recently I bought a HP 4500 all in one printer. It is a wonderful one. It scans, prints, faxes. It is worth buying for 6500. You can invest in it even if it is for 2 months also worth stretching another 2500.

I recently bought HP Deskjet Ink Advantage All-in-One Printer series - K209. http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/in/en...5-3811342.html

It has Print, Scan and Copy. Though the initial cost is hight, Rs.7,500/-, the cartridge cost are damn cheap. Both black and color cartridges cost Rs.425/- only on HP website. And the number of prints are also high compared to my Canon inkjet. Good value for money. You makeup for the initial high price within couple of replacements. Bye bye refills.

Folks need help , I am looking at buying a printer solely to print photos at home. I am on a shoestring budget and I can stretch to about 7k tops. My requirement is simple, need to print good quality photos and the service should be good.

Do advice what do you all think would be ideal at that budget and for the purpose mentioned. Thanks in advance.

^^^
This thread is for all in one.

but anyway. 7k is a nice budget for a photo printer.

you have lot of options from HP (photo smart series), canon and Epson.

In epson if you are DIY you can add, CIS or refillable cartridges. which makes them extremely cheap to run.

PS: what size of photo you want to print, standard 4x6,poscards or full size a4s.

Well got no answer to my query in the forum so I decided to buy 'HP Deskjet Ink Advantage All-in-One Printer series - K209 a' . Bought this for Rs 6800/-. I think its a good buy as a Rs 425/- cartridge (B/W) gives 600 pages. Also, it functions without a color cartridge unlike some other printers which require both the cartridge to be in place to function.
@ rjstyles69 you can check this out. Its good.

Re: 5 in 1 Printer - Please suggest a good buy !

I had bought a Canon 3-1 inkjet a few months back from a dealer on a condition that he will be able to refill the cartridge for the same. But on the first instance itself the printer stopped reading the cartridge after being refilled.

Anyway, I got upset with the dealer, but to his credit he replaced my printer with a Brother printer DCP-195C. I am very happy with that printer because he gave me Four colour ink tanks each of 100 ml after my original ink finished.

Over a period of 3 months I have taken more than 800 pages prints/scans/ photo printout and still more than half ink is remaining. The tank is good for atleast 1600 pages of prints.

The first purchase of these tanks ( I think called CESS Tanks) costed me Rs1800/- with the shell. Refilling can be DIY and costs only Rs750/- for a set of 4 colours each of 100 ml.

So far I am very happy as its very cost effective.

Only thing is that after using CESS inks, the warranty of the printer will get void. But I believe that after refilling the original cartridge the warranty gets void too.

@ Sir Alec : The head of my yellow colour is not printing properly as did not use it for more than 10 days (I mostly print b&w), any pointers as to how to clean it? I have run the cleaning cycle in the printer atleast a dozen times but still some pores are blocked!!

Re: 5 in 1 Printer - Please suggest a good buy !

I am on a look out for a portable printer which I could carry around with me along with my laptop. If it can run on power from USB, I would be thrilled. Basic b/w text printing would do it for me. I have not seen any printer of this kind in the shops. Do I have any options?

Re: 5 in 1 Printer - Please suggest a good buy !

Bought an HP 1050 all in one at a mouth watering price of Rs. 3400 (from HP dealer in Shipra Mall, Indirapuram). Same AIO was quoted at 3900 at Croma !. Scanning is decent but printing colour pages has a bit weak output. Let me know if there is any setting/calibration i need to do.
