5 in 1 Printer - Please suggest a good buy !

Hi friends,

My existing home Canon Fax m/c is almost out of life (> 10-12 years) and Canon deskjet printer is also showing its age. I happened to see those HP all in one printers that have Fax/Phone/Scanner/Printer/Copier embedded in single device.

My basic usage is for home with
1) occasional faxes and few computer prints a week.
2) would be used as Copier very frequently.
3) now since it has scanner, we may sometimes use it.

I'm not very keen on printing speed as we do not print in bulks. But yes the cost of toners/inks should be minimum.

Experts pls suggest few tips on what specs do I need to look into before buying. Also pls share your product experiences HP/Lexmark/Epson/Canon.

I have a HP 3030 it is a flatbed scanner/ laser printer / fax / photo copier all in one...it costed me 18k two years back and I am quite happy with it..

If planning go for a laser one not a inkjet one as the running cost of laser is quite less when compared to the inkjet one.

Get a HP one and a flat bed would be better.
IIRC, the price is around 10k. Not sure though.

Laser printers which support coloured printouts are quite expensive.

The all in one[officejet/deskjet],I think nitrous is referring to is the HP officejet 5610.

And Zakass since u need some more info, i would be glad to help u out here. The prining speed is 33Pgs/minuite. It comes with a ADF, Duplexor if u want. It comes with IEEE 802.11g/b and u can also scan doc w/o installing the s/w. ie: just by using the EWS page...Work well ( only prints)with HP generic driver 550c too....

hey thanx a ton jango.....
ohh well the HP 7408 costing somewhere 24K is out of my budget...9-10K range is the one that i'm looking for...i guess with this budget its difficult to find a All-in-one in Laserjet....i do not need a color copier..

from all the posts above, i'm now preety sure abt the brand...HP

can u pls suggest some HP printer that suits my criteria and budget too?

Zakaaaas, I would suggest you have a look at the HP C6188. Its a 5-in-one with in-built wired and wireless network. It also comes with individual ink tanks. Its mrp is 15xxx and it can be got for about 12.5K.

The best part about it is that a company called Splashjet (Default) makes a CISS (Continuous Ink Supply System) for this printer which will cost you 7.5K and will allow you to use bulk ink (300ml-1lt) with this printer. The ink costs 650/lt. and will save you on regular cartridges. The company claims it save you 95% on the printing costs.

I have the printer on order for myself and will surely go in for the CISS as soon as possible.
