Planning to pick up Canon 40D from R.K tommorow.

can guys in Bangalore have some idea where i could get a decent bag for my 40D(1 or 2 lenses) and where i could get a CF card(2gb/4gb) for a good rate and what CF card would you guys recommend? as i will mostly buy the bag and CF card elsewhere as it is way too expensive at R.K.

For Bags, if you want a good one then RK is the best option.Yeah Cards are bit expensive on RK then outside. You can try fotocircle(Chikpet) for cards. You can get cards on the Grey Markets opp to RK but I never took risk with my photographs and so I prefer to stick to RK or some reputed shop. BTW you can check with pixetra also, heard that they even do door delivery but I've not experience with them.
I've been using Lexar/Sandisk and Kingston and found all of them quite good(or the same I should say).BTW there is no point of going for ultra high speed (133x) , 88x should be more then enough and much cheaper too.
BTW, how much are you paying for the 40D ?
Regards,
Kaushik

Which is the best video camera in 1000 USD range. I have short-listed on JVC Everio GZ-HD7 and Sony HDR-SR12. Which of these two is better?

Any more suggessions?

R.K thoughtfully sent me my 40D with a 8GB Extreme III card installed and Kata H14 bag for 10K more. I think the card was 7K and the bag was 3K.

I find RK cheaper than most Mumbai sources and his service is good too.

try SP road you get both with B&W and without it also. better priced. CF card is common so most of them stock it. i got olympus 2 GB xD card there for 1250/- with out B&W where as foto circle quoted 1900 odd for one GB. it is working fine
sony memory stick 2 Gb is around 800 there now. i got one for 1100 last may with one year dealer warranty and it is still doing fine

I would suggest for a Slingshot in case you have only 2-3 lenses or a backpack for more then 3 lenses..Earlier I used one called Ginny backpack and it was damn cheap(1.8k) and was able to carry 3-4 lenses and other accessories easily.Similar one in Lowepro used to cost around 3.5k.But a slingshot is much faster to use.

I got this for $36. Very compact, carries my 350D, 70-300mm IS USM attached to the cam, 18-55mm, charger, cables, manual etc, space for one more lens and flash. Good quality.

Hi, where did you get this bag from? Is it available in India?

450D has been launched in the US, Will start shipping this month. The prices may be high, I think a 400D may just work unless you want to have the latest gadget. Reviews all on the net.

Got it from circuitcity. Check with some stores here. Lowepro is more popular here on the upmarket bag segment. My gear doesnt warrant a lowepro, hence got the tamrac. Heres some actual images:

I have a Lowepro backpack which i rarely use now.
In my opinion, a backpack is cumbersome if you have the habit of changing lenses often. I just used it for a few days.

How do you guys manage? Do you all use a waist pouch?

I use a holster (Kata H14) with a belt but my hoslter does not close as my camera+battery pack is too big.

I wear the bag on my chest if I am expecting a change of lens. That rarely happens because I will have some basic idea of what I am going to shoot. But its easy with this bag.
