try ebay.in to find out what you get can in this budget.
don't buy such expensive stuff online, as you are in a metro you can get rates from ebay and then hunt for camera in local market to get best deals.

I think today itself i saw a sony digi cam w320 for Rs.6700 on ebay.

Guys !! I am confused whether I need to upgrade from my recently bought Panasonic FX28 to a Canon 1000d or Nikon d3000. Can any experts advice me the pros and cons of this upgrade?

By the way if the upgrade is better, then what will be the best price i may get for my recently bought FZ28 in beautiful showroom condition?

Looking answers for both the doubts

Camera Case

Guys.. What camera case are you using for your FZ35's? I am looking for a nice compact case, but could not find any. I would ideally prefer a very compact model.

Please suggest what brand-model are you guyes using. Post a pic if possible and a place where it can procured in pune.

EDIT: What more accessories are recommended? And where to source them???

Well I am using a Case Logic SLCC-1 with my FZ35. I picked it up from one of the Whizz Camera outlets for about Rs.900. Very compact, its got a carry handle, deattachable shoulder strap and belt loop. Thick padding ensures camera is safe. Main compartment holds the camera. Side pouches holds an extra battery and SD cards. Also has 2 more smaller compartments. Only drawback is there is no space to keep the lens hood that came along with the camera.

Not sure where you can pick one in Pune, but i saw a few of them being sold on ebay.in

No accessories yet, but I am looking at buying a good medium sized tripod and UV filter. Any suggestions on this pls?

Does any one have the Olympus SP-600UZ camera ? It is available for ridiculously low price. The camera has 15x wide-angle zoom and it is of 12 Megapixel. Please advice.

If any of you are looking for a good pocketable travel zoom then try your hand at Samsung WB600 (HZ30W). I recently bought this camera for a friend and then used it for 2 days. Seems to be a pretty nice camera. It has 24-360mm zoom lens which I found quite useful for any kind of travel zoom. Also the size is not bulky and can easily go into jeans pocket (bit tight fit but still works). It also have the creative modes (P,A,S,M) but one issue is that you need to set the mode each time you switch on the camera. Small niggle but one might get used to it. 24mm is a pretty good wide angle range and 360mm is good tele range too. Flash is ok but I felt it needed bit more power. I missed shooting in RAW and that's one major disadvantage if I had to get the camera.
It also can capture HD video at 720p and good thing is that you can zoom in and out during shooting video without much noise.
But the best part is the price, it's only 14k with Bill & Warranty and that makes it really good VFM.

Guys,
Recently, started cycling. Cant really carry a dslr on long rides. So i need a pocket camera, which is really light on both wallet and pocket.

I don't care about megapixel, zoom etc. The minimum zoom factor it has, the better it is. In fact a fixed wide, at about 35mm, should be fine enough.

I do care about things like, weight, how compact it is, noise, pic quality and how quick it is(between shutter press and when the picture is actually shot).

thanks,
Budget is < 10k.

1. Canon SD1300is
2. Canon SD940is
3. Nikon S570

Most people say that Nikon point and shoots are really bad. I was considering this Nikon because it looks good. Anyways, I'm leaning towards Canon SD940is. Its better looking than the SD1300is, slimmer, lighter. Technically both the cameras read the same specs. Can you guys tell me which is better?

Also, any better options to consider?

Thanks guys!
Hi guys, please help me!!! I'm leaning towards the Canon SD940is. Its the best looking of the three I've mentioned. Only worried about image quality.

I'd look athe SX120 as well it is not as pocketable as the ones you have selected but it has got better reviews.

If compact is what you are after I'd get the SD980IS instead of the 940IS.

Time for a new camera purchase to replace my aging Canon powershot. The EOS 350D with 70-300IS USM was given away, so need a new fast superzoom which can shoot great videos too.

Being a Canon loyal, my first preference is the SX20 IS. However I also like to consider the Fuji HS10 for its 30x zoom, Any direct reviews comparing the models? I am also unsure of the Fuji support in India. Any pointers?
