| ![]() Guys I went to check out nikon and S4000(10k) and canon ixus 130 (12k) both are with hd video which is my first priority. I liked both of them but nikon has no HDMI output and canon has it. 10 mins of Hd video will occupy 4gb of space. Need your suggestion for which should I go for. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Guys, based on the feedback here I am also looking at the Panasonic FZ 35. E bay shows the price around 16.5 approx. Not really sure if I want to buy a camera thru ebay though. panasonic fz35, 12.0 Mega Pixel Above items at low prices on eBay India Whats a good price for one? Would it make sense to go for a B&W only? Also, if we have a few of us willing to buy it can someone get a group price deal ? Last edited by sammyboy : 13th May 2010 at 20:50. |

2. I have used the S90 and LX3 as well as the Fuji F70exr and a few other well recieved P&Ss. I believe that the S90 is the one pocktable camera (the LX3 is not pocketable) that does not make me feel too bad to leave my SLR kit behind.

| ![]() I want to buy a P&S camera. My budget is 10-12k. I would like to have more pro features rather than smile shutter like features. Suggest me a good cam. |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() I am looking for a good prosumer cam, following being my main requirements - Good macro photos (main purpose is close-ups of flowers, insects etc) - Atleast 10x optical zoom (Don't want to miss record shots of birds as well) - Larger sensor size given priority over zoom - Manual focus/zoom would be an added bonus - Need a good in-built flash as well which syncs at high shutter speeds I already have a Canon 400D but want the prosumer for portability and range than having to change lenses every time I take a macro/tele photo Budget is 25k/$500 at the most. I have the option of buying it in USA as well The Contenders - Fuji FinePix S200EXR Nikon P100 Canon SX20 IS Anything else? (Panasonic Lumix?) |

The E-PL1 with a 14-42 kit lens should outperform the others. You can get it for about $550-600 in the US. The G11 is a little less ($450), the S90 is for $350 and the Fuji is for $250. All of them will cover about 28-80mm or a bit more. The later 2 are pocketable. If it a superzoom you are after (the P100, SX20 etc are all super zooms) why not short list the hot HS10. | ![]() Hi All, Its my better half's birthday on the 20th of this month. I plan to give her a Digi cam (couple of weddings lined up in the next few weeks). My budget is around INR 5,000. I saw a camera from Fujifilm (don't remember the model name, but it was small and sleek) at croma but not too sure if its worth it. PS: My other camera is a Sony H5. Please advise. |

I suggest the S90 - because it is the only P&S camera that has direct control rings that allow you to quickly change aperture/shutter speed/exposure settings.

Maybe I wasn't clear but I want atleast 10x zoom, so I would only be looking at superzooms.

the most compact of the cameras with decent IQ and atleast 10x zoom is the Fuji F80exr. My wife uses the F70 exr. It fits nicely in her purse so she can carry it everywhere and hence get more picture opportunities. Your other option is the dated but I think still available Panasonic TZ3. Note that none of the modern superzooms have a sensor bigger than 1/2.5" or so. The 1/1.6" sensor used in the G11, S90, F200exr etc is much nicer but all of these are 4x or 5x zooms. |
