Apologies for a back to back post..
I am sure that FZ35 owners would like this

I am planning to buy FZ35. From US it costs around $325 and on eBay.in it is around 16400 with 1 year dealer warranty.
The links are
eBay India: PANASONIC LUMIX DMC-FZ35 DIGITAL CAMERA + WARRANTY (item 350361090662 end time 07-Jun-2010 17:07:59 IST)
and
eBay India: PANASONIC LUMIX DMC FZ35 DIGITAL CAMERA WARRANTY NEW (item 250643182333 end time 08-Jun-2010 23:23:45 IST)

They both are Delhi based sellers. Has anybody tried buying such stuff from eBay.in ?
Are they original products?

The warranty that you got, is that from Panasonic or is it a dealer warranty?

It is Panasonic India 3 year warranty card stamped by dealer. modcamers is an authorized dealer for the same. he does not even sell without bill and warranty.

Picked up mine today for 25,000. From Vijay Sales, Mumbai. JJMehta is selling it for 24,000+, but when I enquired yesterday, they were de-selling it, plus asking for credit card charge. Hence the decision to take it from some place else.

Still trying things out. The camera does give one the feel of a DSLR.

HS 10 - Teleconverter

I have heard that the Olympus TCON-17 can be mated to the HS10 increasing its zoom by a factor of 1.7. Which means that you can get an effective 51x zoom. Any idea where to procure this part from?

Which would be a really good compact P&S with 10x zoom to buy? General purpose carry around no-fuss camera to take on business trips, when a DSLR is too big to carry around. AA cells would be a plus point, though not a must.

What is your budget like? If you can get into the 16K range, then the Panasonic TZ6 is a good choice. There is the super compact option Nikon L110 which is at 15x zoom in the same price range as well, though feature wise I would rate the TZ6 better. Otherwise the amount of choice is quite a bit. Do remember that usage of AA batteries will mean a less sleek design.

You could consider the Canon SX 120 IS. The lens starts at 36mm which means you cannot get a wide angle shot. It runs on AAs and not too heavy either.

It scores well on Image quality, offers full Manual control and should be your best bet.

DA my wife uses a F70exr. it fits in her purse. there is now a F80 out so the F70 (she paid about 16K) should be available cheap. Another compact option is the rather mature panny TZ3. If however 5x is adequate the S90 or F200exr are what I'd consider.

+1 to this suggestion as well. The SX120 IS is a good camera and the price is about 10-13K depending on where you source it from.
