Thanks for that was a real eye-opener .

Have decided to go with the Nikkor as of now. Save up and then buy a Tokina.

@ rjstyles69, congratulations on your new camera.

@ Hellcat, sorry I couldn't give you that information in time. I'm pretty badly stuck with my work.

@ gkrishn, long time no see and I'm to blame for that.

If possible, let's catch up soon. May be this weekend. What say guys?

Weeks of inhaling paint may have something to do with it than old age. I thought he told you about a new camera purchase offline. No, here he is discussing what lens to purchase.

@jesal: What model of Sony do you have in mind?

@gkrishn: "I guess thats a with bill and w/o bill difference. Ask RK how much it is w/o bill... may be the price will come down there also."

The rates quoted by RK for a Sigma 10-20MM was 31K and Canon 10-22MM for 38K without B/W.

The same Sigma lens without B/W was offered at 20K+ from Photo circle.
I feel RK is a total rip off in certain products they sells. (this is entirely my opinion).

Hi Samurai,

It's nice to see another Olympus guy in this Canikon world!
My E-500 came with 17.5-45mm and 40-150mm lens.
I love the olympus colors. One thing that worries me is i don't see any action / wildlife photographer using an Olympus. :(

What lenses have you got for your E-500? Did you get / planning to get any lens other than the kit lens?

Wow, you are the first E-500 owner I know from India. Great, we gotta meet.

This is the gear I have:
Olympus 14-54mm F/2.8-3.5 Zuiko ED
Olympus 50-200mm F/2.8-3.5 Zuiko Digital Zoon Lens
Olympus 40-150mm F/3.5-4.5 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens
Olympus Zuiko 50mm f/2.0 E-ED Digital Macro Lens
Olympus Zuiko EC-14, 1.4x E-ED Digital Tele Converter
Olympus EX-25, 1:1 Macro Extension Tube
Manfrotto 190DB tripod with 486RC2/141RC head

I have retired the 40-150mm after upgrading to 50-200mm.

BTW, I have been eyeing this recently:

Sigma 135-400mm f/4.5-5.6 DG and the new E-P1 or E3 or whatever it is called.

Samurai,

I just fainted reading your gear list.

I'd been eying the 14-54 and 50-200 for sometime because of the f2.8..but can't afford it right now. How's the focusing speed of 50-200? I heard the new version comes with Supersonic Wave Drive and it's faster.

I'd love to see the picures you've shot.

Riju the EF 50mm f/1.8 II is one of the smallest, lightest and least expensive low-light combinations available from Canon.

Right now I am just having fun with it, I am really surprised with the quality of sharpness this lens provides.

And bro let me know if you are going shopping for your lens this weekend.
