Which UPS to buy ?

Which UPS would be good VFM ? I need something thats 650 VA +

I know APC is good but a tad too pricey.

All experiences are welcome, good or bad .

We picked up an APC one during last June. It's been going real great. Bit pricey, but it shows.

I would suggest, go for APC.

Regards
Rex

Same in Microtek goes for 1950

am using APC for 3+ years now; had changed only the battery a month back (got a 1 year warranty on that!)

but there are other good ones also - try Numeric. Seems to be making some head way in the UPS scene. Heard it the first time 2 weeks back when my dad got it from a local dealer in TN.

APC without any doubt. A bit pricey but then it shows and their service is pretty good too.

APC... mine is over three years old and the Battery is still going strong... Still gives me close to 20 mins backup! (I have an ES-500 with approx 350 W load on it).

Go for APC !! I am using model R S 1500 since 2 years (865 Watts / 1500 VA), never had a single complaint. In case of any error or technical back up, they do it quicker than any other brand. I used to get close to an hour back up with 2 LCD monitors, desktop and modem ON. Later upgraded with additional battery pack which gives a total of 4 hours back up as of now.

APC without any doubt. Bit pricey, but it is complete peace of mind.

Great Product
Good Back up time
Good After Sales Service

Mine is ES 650 and gives around 24 minutes back up.

As many guys suggested go for APC (American Power Cconversion).the best selling UPS might be little pricy..its worth the price and more durable....also has good service network.

I am using Sukam Inverter/UPS 1400 VA with two battreis. It gives me 6-8 hrs back up (Maybe more not tried)

You can go for a smaller one which is 800va with a single battery will give you 4-5 hrs back up if single PC is used. will cost you 5+7k approx

APC is fabulous! Been using one for last 7 years. No problems at all. Just the battery was changed once.
Also have an iBall. Not bad.

@ Low_bass_makker - Sirjee, 6-8hrs!! Wow. Is it a regular UPS type or did you have to do some mods to run the rig?
