Where to find India's Maps for Garmin GPS

Guys,

Does anyone know where I can get India's map for a GARMIN NUVI 200 GPS in or around NCR and also load it ?

I have bought this in US so it currently works for US and canada I believe.

I have heard there is a dealer who deals in the same in delhi but do not know if he is reliable..
Can some one throw some light on this....

Get in touch with GPS India - GPS, Aviation, Marine, Handheld, Navigation, Binoculars, Compass, Windwatch. They are the official dealers for Garmin and also provide maps. I bought my Garmin from them a few years back and have been satisfied with their service as well.

They have offices in Mumbai and Delhi. The contact guy here in Delhi is Ramesh Kashyap and he is a member of TBHP as well.

This could not have been a more timely thread. I was contemplating of buying a Garmin and was worried if it would work in India and whether India-specific maps are available.

Thanks for that info Monkey.

The image says "4 metros and >35 towns", - has there been an upgrade since then? Does the 4.5k charge include free upgrades?

Let us know how good the maps are and any other usage comments that you may have.

These cards will work only with Garmin units as the maps are in that format.

In that case, these maps must work with Garmin Que which is an application for use on Windows Mobile!

Garmin has discontinued with the iQue models and their support. Hence i can't get fresh upgrades for my iQue3600. I won't get a decent price if I sell and I am too used to and familiar with its functioning.

@Monkey: 4.5K for 4 metros and other towns is definitely worth the price I would say. I was quoted 10K by GPS India just for Chennai and nearby areas and so I junked the idea of buying it. I have a Nuvi 350 for which I am desperately in need of India maps.

Folks ,
I have won a bid on ebay (US) for Garmin650 for 232.5USD. Is it worth? I will have to spend another 5K INR for Indian maps from Garmin.

Now my question is will I have to pay Customs duty for this while receiving it in india? What is the maximum value of electronic goods you can bring in through courier without paying customs duty? Even if I have to pay the duty how much it would be?
