1. I still prefer the LG extended warranty as only a few plastic parts are excluded. Rest - all parts, labour and 2 services a year are included.

2. Installation is a big pain if carried out by non technical and/or lazy person. I have had a few instances of such installations. Now a days I insist on installation by authorised company personnel, even if I have to pay extra. Normally large appliances bought on Amazon or from Company showrooms have installation by authorised company agencies. It is only stores like Croma or Vijay sales (amongst others), that try to get installation by their persons. These stores also try to sell their extended warranty instead of the company ones. So be careful.

What LG extended warranty has that Voltas does not
. 2 Services (min) every year. More if there is a minor problem.
. Gas, Radiator and metal parts all covered.

some plastic parts are not covered.
What is the duration of this Extended Warranty (INR 10k)?
Can you buy it from LG even if you purchase the AC from let’s say Vijay Sales?

Not OP but I am in the same process and tried to use 'Corporate Employee Discount'

us-q18jnxe1 is 34,890 with corporate discount and their AMC stack is varied.

Gold (basic/on demand cleaning): ₹4.4K–₹17.7K
Platinum (proactive with jet pump cleaning): ₹5.3K–₹22.1K
Evaporator/filter cleaning (1 Time) for all of those plans.

To your other question, call the CS and ask them. Vijay sales were trying to push their own inhouse plans.

For Samsung, it explicitly says that you can buy only during purchase of the unit in the website. Samsung 4 year AMC covers just labor and gas, if you happen to use their 5 year comprehensive warranty.

If yet to buy new refrigerator, pls do NOT buy Samsung refrigerator. Their quality has degraded in last few years. My side by side refrigerator started developing cracks inside the freezer part in 1.5 yrs, being a plastic part this crack is not covered under warranty. I got 40% amount back after they deducted 60% as depriceation cost, which means 90k fridge, 18 month use and lost 54k, and they told this defect is non repairable and being a crack in plastic part, it is not covered under warranty.

Another relative - bought Samsung side ny side refrigerator, in last 2 years, 5 tines gas refilled, once compressor changed and few more parts changed (they have ext warranty from vijay sales so till now free repairs), but every 1-2 month it stop cooling and they again follow up with complaints raising and repairs.

Too bad quality - never buy Samsung refrigerator

Not sure how we got to discussing refrigerators on this thread, but I have noticed a steep decline in quality of products in this space offered across brands. I am currently in the market for a new refrigerator, and I figured I would try to get the modern version of an LG refrigerator my Dad bought back in 2017. It is a 495 litre model with a 4 star energy rating sticker that displays 243 units of annual energy consumption. The fridge has never skipped a beat even after shifting houses thrice, and so I figured I would buy its modern equivalent. However wherever I go, I am not able to find a similar capacity fridge with the same energy rating. The closest I got was a 400 litre Samsung (so 20% less capacity), that consumes 20 units of energy more as per the 3 star sticker. This has got me quite confused. Has there been a decline in quality of technology used in fridges post Covid? I am not able to understand why after 8 years, I cannot find a product from any brand that is atleast as good as our current one. I have scoured the Internet to no avail, posted on the home appliance thread to no avail and figured I best ask someone in the refrigeration space about this.

I’m (or was) looking to buy a 1.5-ton AC. I was comparing Samsung and LG units, as both brands offer after-sales service in my town - unlike many others. The price difference was significant: Samsung was ₹28K with all discounts, while LG was ₹34K.

Lo and behold, I placed the order for the LG AC this morning after reading that LG's AC quality and service are generally better than Samsung’s.

What you're describing is a race to the bottom. I spent the better part of the last decade in the U.S., where I noticed a decline in product quality over time. It’s just how capitalism tends to work in certain industries. I mitigated some of that pain by purchasing extended warranty contracts. Some credit cards in the U.S. even offer extended warranties as a built-in benefits.
