Gmail ofcourse, over the years I have yahoo getting more confusing like someone said, its tricky to find out the sign out link.

Btw back in those days USA.net was my favored mail service over hotmail & yahoo

Well going by the results here, it's probably true that Google has surpassed Yahoo in almost all product areas.

I still remember the days when Yahoo was the market leader and immensely popular with the internet users - those days are long gone.

I have noticed that most middle-old aged people still prefer yahoo, whether it's for mails, real estate, autos , stocks, searches etc (no offence to young yahoo users here). I guess it has something to do with technophobia and google's casual approach towards privacy.

Voted for Gmail. Ease of use and speed. Wish for a button or a functionality and it is already there in Gmail. Google understands the end user better. And Gmail Labs; it is simply awesome.

I remember usa.net as well. Really liked it, but dumped it when they became a paid mail service.

GMail any day over yahoo.
I was never a yahoo mail fan. Before the ajax versions came, i was using hotmail as my primary id. Yahoo mail was used only for yahoo groups. Once i switched to gmail, haven't looked back

hotmail - since 1998, stopped after gmail, the current windows live sucks big time.
yahoo - also since 1998, just as secondary email
gmail - since 2005
At one point i used to use usa.net, till it was free. Also while i was in college, i had around 20 email ids in various mail clients

Why i like Gmail:
- threading of mails
- inbuilt chat within gmail (no longer use yahoo/live messenger)
- labeling of mails
- innovative (it was the first ajax web mail client)
- good spam control
- google labs which adds interesting features
- linked to other google services

Ofcourse gmail. Not just mails, even for chat its always gtalk. Its much better and importantly, light compared to other guys. Simple and to the need.

And gmail was the first to come up with 1GB limitations.

Do I need anymore?

Still remember those late 90's(?) changing the hotmail profile to point to Australia or other country and bring back to get 250mb space

Can someone tell me how do I have a better user interface with gmail? The only reason i still use Yahoo is due to better user interface (in my opinion), font options, signature options.

Gmail undoubtedly. It has all Gtalk embedded, and the latest baby Buzz.
Yahoo is far behind in race.

re: Web Mail - your preference

Getting fed up with yahoo mail. Can't login to yahoo mail - it shows me a blank page after I login. I could not also logon through my mobile device to Yahoo while I was on a trip recently.

The new CEO maybe making news , but is she doing anything to improve on these reliability issues ?

I'm moving away from yahoo mail to gmail slowly.

Yahoomail is rubbish. Might as well bury it and call a general funeral...
Gmail is far better but as more and more people start getting on it, it is becoming slower and slower and more prone to headaches...
