Yes. I am using this app from more than 6 months now. If your complaint is registered the spamming number gets disconnected in 10 -20 days.

Yup, I have religiously used it for the last year or so, and is very effective. Only downside is that Airtel badgers you with callbacks begging you not to use this TRAI app but to instead complain internally to Airtel :-)

One problem with DND is the huge number of violators who care a hoot about the law - real estate developers, brick & mortar retailers, some banks, share market tipsters, Nigerian scamsters - you have them all.

I ended up buying a Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus from Amazon. Delivery will take a week - 4th Aug is the expected date. Will have to go to BSNL DHCE for the nano Sim.

Went ahead and bought Nokia 7 Plus for my dad from Amazon for 26K. There was flat 1750 off for HDFC card also.

I am considering this as well for my parents. The main requirement is watching YouTube videos and good battery life.

My only concern is the size and weight of this device considering my parents are senior citizens.

How comfortable is your dad with the overall size and bulk?

My dad is also a senior citizen lol:

He had some issues in the beginning regarding the size but remember, he has Moto Z2 earlier which was quite hefty. So adjusting to Note 7 plus wasn't all that difficult. But if your parents have a smallist phone now, they may find the 7 plus a bit too big.

Does this app block those spam messages having no number, like for eg: "VMABCXYZ" ?

Bought Asus Zenfone 5z a couple of weeks back.

Was looking for top of the line Snapdragon 845 processor and used the following search string on google "cheapest android phone with snapdragon 845" :) and bumped into this phone.

Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods-snapdragon_845_search.jpg

As it turned out, it was the 1st day of the launch of Zenfone 5z in India. It undercuts the prevailing cheapest Android phone running Snapdragon 845 (Oneplus6) by 5k. Also, there was 3k off on ICICI card, so net price: 27k (6GB RAM, 64GB Flash version).

Got the delivery from Flipkart in a couple of days and everything went smooth. Lovely phone. Super duper fast. It's got 6.2" display in 5.2" form factor. I am enjoying it.

Thanks! The price seemed irresistible. After a 6 grand cashback on the HDFC credit card, it cost Rs. 36,990 for a 128 GB S9.

I too got the same version, after exchanging my Galaxy S7. The exchange offer was irresistible, although I got the same from a regular Samsung store. :)

Finally got myself a 9i, and in turning into a fan of the honor as a brand. The 6x was brilliant, and this is even more so. And a bit of eye candy too, in blue.

This phone has turned out to be quite a buy for under 20k.
Everything is top notch, except for the battery. I now take the metro to and from work, so I watch something for 2 hours every day. I now have to charge the phone before leaving from work to ensure that it has 20% left by the time I go to sleep.
Another complaint is lack of rooting options.
Otherwise, worth it.

This app doesn't block any calls or messages. It's for reporting spam calls and spam messages.

I am seeing an issue on my Sony Xperia. Many notifications that " xx wont run unless I update Google play services". I have tried to clear cache for this ( via Setttings > Apps ), but the clear cache button is blanked out. So how does one update GP Services ?

It is supposed to happen automatically. Google Play Services is fundamental to a large part of the (commerical) Android experience and hence is outside of normal user controls. Just leave the phone alone, with an internet connection for it to do its thing.
