re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

^^ Exactly. Screen is the only thing that seems to have a 'little' edge over Desire HD, some reviews claim its the gorilla glass. But, if it was, I think Dell would have advertised it no ends!! Other than that, HTC beats it hollow.

Anyways, good thing is Desire seems to be coming down to 20k levels!! Maybe a few more weeks and it'll breach this barrier!

Galaxy 5 has been replaced by samsung galaxy "pop"

same price,better specs,2.2 froyo
Looks good. And at an amazing price too (Pre-order at 9k).

Samsung Mobile Price: Buy Samsung Galaxy Pop S5570: Price, Reviews: Flipkart Mobiles

However, here are the shortcomings:
Colors - 256K
CPU: 600Mhz
GPS: Yes, With A-GPS Support (Does this mean it has integrated GPS too?)

Rehaan, When I go there I see contacts/Calendar/gmail But no option to make a selection, I tapped on Contacts & it synced it

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Have you guys seen this happening? Galaxy S GPS is latching on to Satellites and locking on the position within seconds (not even half a minute) on a cold start. I've seen this happening in my phone nowadays and all I did was to get 3G activated.

The Desire HD does have an S-LCD screen.
The Dell Venue's AMOLED display, while better than the S-LCD, wouldn't match the Super AMOLED displays found in the Galaxy S / Nexus S.

Could the the quick lock be due to A-GPS?

Haven't got it yet but will be going today. My heart is all set on Desire HD, had a nice extended session at Croma yesterday and was sold.
Was so excited could not sleep properly the whole night.

I will get it from Alfa only if its cheaper than Flipkart.
Does Desire HD have gorilla glass like Desire?
Edit: No it does not. Not that much of a big deal, I just have to be a bit careful.

Cheers

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I picked one up. It is quite good and intuitive. Migrating contacts was easy. Main issue is battery power gets over. Have yet to use full potential since 3G is not enabled properly

O.T, A-GPS is a pro and not a con. A-GPS or Assisted GPS is a added feature along with the integrated GPS chip. Its there to help the GPS lock faster to the satellites using the data network of the service provider. However this feature can be turned off on the devices and the GPS would work without it.

I personally though the Desire HD was a little TOO big. I think the Desire itself is just fine, lol.

Good thing Croma had a live piece. Any idea how much would it cost at Alfa?
