I wouldn't say I am a die hard fan, but I am eager to see a KEYone, with the potential to buy.

I still miss the use of a tactile hard keyboard.

Hope they introduce the phone at a reasonable price. Blackberry does not have a good track record of introducing phones at a competitive price.
They do reduce the price after a few months, but then the demand and interest in the product has also died

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

The last two balckberry's i owned - z10 and a passport developed problems within a year. Despite that i would still like to continue with blackberry, but for the fact that the service centre took 2 months to repair / replace the phone.

I'm a big fan of the physical keyboard and will end up buying the KEYone i guess.

OT are there any phones with a physical keyboard these days?

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Thank you for sharing this. I am now eagerly looking forward to the launch of this BB as nothing but nothing comes close to the feel and ease of typing on the BB keyboards.
My Father and myself both used the Torch and while he stayed loyal by getting the Classic and then the Priv. I moved to One+ and now the Pixel. The DTek twins did not impress me enough to move back but this looks and I am sure will feel nice to hold and use just as the Priv does. Have registered on the site for further intimations etc.

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Continuing my early post on the Keyone

There are loads of reviews on youtube

This review covers it quite in-depth

Any users on T-BHP yet to get the phone? Or got one?

Would love to hear from them!

I for one am longing for a phone for typing on a physical keyboard! Waiting for the launch in India!

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Looks like blackberry fans in India have some good news.
https://www.google.co.in/amp/phonera...-in-india/amp/

This article states that an upgraded version of the Keyone will be launched in India in the next month!

I'm using the iPhone 6 since the last two years. Wanted to change my phone 6 months back but was waiting for the next big iPhone, which I don't think will be here anytime soon. So looking for a new phone and came across Keyone on YouTube and I'm fascinated with the phone.
Not a die hard BB fan, but have used the curve and Bold series extensively. Currently the main reason that I'm looking forward to buy Keyone is because I suffer from hyperhidrosis (extremely sweaty palms) because of which the touch responds strangely and typing becomes a huge pain. So the only solution to my strange problem is the Keyone
The reviews inspired confidence with the traditional bb qwerty keyboard and a great battery life. I think this could be my next phone for sure!!

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Here's a video speed test comparison of the KEYone with the Samsung Galaxy S8!

Although the processors of these phones are not directly comparable, the test does give a fair idea that the BB is no slow kid. Considering that the BB is not built primarily as a multi-media device to play games on!

Blackberry Phones and Services in India-imageuploadedbyteambhp1499471895.594759.jpg

Ever since the Passport was launched it always intrigued me.But with no Google play services ,never gathered the courage to buy it.

Kept following the thread on crackberry which detailed the ways to get Google play services on the passport. Finally decided to give it a try and ordered one off Amazon for $188.

The phone got delivered a day back and first thing I did was to get Google play running on it . Going to try it for few days and if it doesn't work for me , will switch back to the ever friendly 7 plus.

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

The rumors were true.

The first Blackberry with a dual SIM is going to be here next week.
On Amazon on Aug 8

I just happened to buy a Blackberry Priv last week, 2 days before the announcement on Amazon.

Will have to wait a bit before I buy the KEYone

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

If you have been a die hard blackberry fan and your kids have witnessed you working tirelessly with your darling BB , they would never miss an opportunity to get you hooked back to your trusted and loved device.

Celebrating my birthday around 15 days back at a resort in Munnar was presently surprised with a Blackberry Keyone by my kids.

Jet Black, 4 GB Ram, 64 GB storage, Dual Sim, not bad and looks awesome. The initial impression is just wow.

When switch it on for the first time initially felt that the screen was a bit small coz we all got to use the 5.5" screens but as soon as you start your magic rumblings on the phone all the earlier nostalgia keeps coming back.

Now with dual power of Android and Blackberry, Keyone is a phone which i have again fallen in love with. The hub and keyboard took some time getting used to back again but are butter smooth. 4g, LTE ready the customisation by BB of android for their phone is working wonders. The space bar doubling as finger print sensor is brilliant. Feature loaded i am loving it.

Some snaps for you all

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

BBM or Blackberry Messenger is shutting down on May 31.

Only the freely available BBM consumer service is being shut down on May 31, 2019. The paid, enterprise version of the service -- called BBMe -- will continue operating as normal. So if you still want to keep using Blackberry Messenger in some form or the other, you'll have to pay $2.50 for every six months of use. But for others, who don't suffer from separation anxiety, it's time to say goodbye to BBM once and for all.
