The 'iVMS-4500' android app, which I was using to watch my hikvision cameras installed in front of my house, has started acting cranky. It is NOT recognising the user name, now. I tried with reinstalling the app, also tried with the linked mobile number and all. Are there any workarounds?

Please advise.

Did you try contacting Hikvision customer care? They might have a ready fix available for these setup problems

Option1
Your best bet is delete all the setup on your App. Then connect the phone to the same Wifi n/w where the DVR/NVR is connected and try the detect option.

Option2
Install this app HiLookVision and set it up
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...com.mcu.hilook

It may solve your problem.

Their customer care is almost non-existent.
They do have some email responses but they just point you to documentation.

This has worked for me BUT this throws up the below message on launch.

Also, its NOT as feature rich as the iVMS app. Are there any other alternatives, please?

I tried with 64 GB and it serves my purpose well.

Are there any reliable CCTV Cameras that come with in-built rechargeable batteries? My relatives owning arecanut farms are looking for such cameras as powering them by routing long cables is not going to be cost-effective. If these cameras can detect motion and record videos, that could help conserve battery! I came across solar cameras such as this one on Amazon but not sure how good they are.

Is the installation outdoors ?

There are solar + battery kits that provide stable 5 / 10 / 15 watt power. You will need to install a cabinet to house the UPS.

Solar + Battery kit (5w):

Yes, the installation would be outdoors. I will suggest this solution to them. Thank you!

Will be ordering this model soon. With regards to power backup, planning to run a wire from the APC UPS in my flat down to the garage. Will connect the camera's adapter to this AC supply. Hope this is fine. Extending the length of the camera's adapter wire is not advisable I guess since it has DC and may result in voltage drop.

Yes, this should work. Do Weather-Proof the socket and plug of camera.

Thanks for the confirmation. :) Yes, the position of the camera and power socket will be weather proof. :thumbs up

I have 4 mi 360 wifi cameras installed & working satisfactorily so I thought. Recently when back from a trip, I found some things missing & going through the footage found all my cameras had been turned off for 17 mins.

I realised that all it takes is turning the wifi off.

Is there any way to prevent this or any particular camera that I can replace these with that work & record 24/7 as it just renders these useless?

This one records even if Wifi is turned off: https://www.flipkart.com/realme-360-...m0da13cf0405b2

Any camera that as SD card should be able to record while WiFi is off.

With this setup, Video will be stored locally and be sent to DVR once connection is back.

Wasn't stored in my case unfortunately, maybe there is another hack I'm not aware of. Replaced the entire set up with CP ip cameras wired directly to the Nvr. Hopefully successful.
