Is there a way to access the footage on laptop and also administer the NVR remotely? Please advise!

Hello. Yes sir. Possible. You have a desktop application to monitor and control settings. It's called hikcentre.
All the best.

I want to put up a wifi CCTV camera in my farm house and want to have the video feed continuously played (not on a mobile) at my home (15 kms away), how can I achieve it? It has to be a wifi CCTV camera as the only internet connection I can have at my farm house is through a Jio dongle. Is there some way I can involve the Google home hub? Thanks for your inputs!

Hello RRSTEER,

Yes, it is possible. You would need a setup as below:

1. Since you need live footage to be played at all times - it would be better to play it on a Laptop / PC using your manufacturer's client application

2. NVR should have a USB option to plug in your jio device, or you would need a LTE routed similar to this https://www.amazon.in/dp/B085PFRFKX/

3. Google home hub can also be installed (Im not sure whether you want this at source or destination - so I couldn't answer this to satisfaction - Im sorry)

If you need more info, please reply here or let me know.

Thanks.

Hi pdpyen, thanks for your reply.

I wanted to use a Google hub. I have a Google Hub lying at home and was wondering can it be connected to the CCTV camera at my farm house, such that I can view the pictures through the hub.

What is NVR?
I know that Mi wifi camera connects to jio wifi dongle without problem.

Which cctv brand would you suggest?
Thank you!

Hello rrsteer,
NVR is a network video recorder used for recording and playing the video back over network.
Dvr is a digital video recorder.
If you can help me with your requirements, I can give you some of the best options available.
If I was to opt for a surveillance system, I would go for hikvision.
Or Bosch if security involves high risk.

I have seen MI cameras being installed.

May i know your Google hubs model number, I can try to find out if it's possible to link it with MI camera. Also MI camera model would be needed.

Yes jio or any 4g lte device would be a great addition. Also it depends it the bandwidth in the area where you want this to be installed is fair.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Has anyone setup Hikvision Acusense Cam/NVR's ?

I already have a regular Hikvision NVR and regular IP camera's.
For my front gate wanted to use one of the features that Acusense offers.

Thinking better to get an Acusense NVR vs individual Acusense Cameras because then I can connect it to my existing cameras and it can provide the same features on upto 4 non-Acusense cameras.

Looking for feedback from someone who has tried this.

Sory for the delay in responding, had things to work on.
Once I had done this job for one of my friends and it turned out great for him.
Accusense is a great add on. If pricing isn't a prob, this is a bang-for-the-buck.
Great options for security as well.
Please do let me know if you need more details.

Folks, have a query

I am in need of a CCTV camera system. My requirements are as follows-

Is there any ready kit available in the online market? If so, are the prices reasonable? I haven't contacted the local dealers as I would prefer to install it myself, which is also the reason I am not looking at the regular DVR and analog cameras.

Please let me know, if someone is already using a similar setup as I am not much aware of the compatibility issues if the NVR and the IP cameras are bought separately.

Thanks in Advance

Current estimate is that the cameras will be placed around 30-40m away from the NVR.

Hello. Its possible. 30/40m should be easy setup.
If you're using rj45 case is different and cat5 / cat6 its a different game.

please let me know how you would want to proceed and i can help you further.

Note: rj45 is cheap - cat5/6 is costly but efficient

Depending on that you might nee a PoE injector/ switch.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't RJ45 a connector? To my understanding it is a connector. Moreover I believe all data connection defaults to RJ45, there does not seem to be another option. The other type similar to it is RJ11, which is used in fixed line telephones.

You could connect (crimp) an RJ45 connector to cat6 or cat5 cable as per your requirement of data speed, bandwidth and cable length.

Regarding your queries:
1) The Ezviz cameras use a 5V 1A USB adapter which is supplied and easily replacable.

5) Ezviz cameras are quite reliable and I have not seen any failures - you just need to make sure that your power is reliable (they need to be on a UPS / Inverter circuit to be continuously on)

For the power backup will a powerbank UPS like this one work? https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B08...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm using this for my wifi router

Thank you

Yes it should work fine as it has a 5V DC output but it can work out quite expensive if you have multiple cameras. For multiple cameras a centralized computer ups 1100Va will be better.
