Re: 2012 Auto Expo - What to Expect?!

Why is it written Honda Civic facelift? Isnt it a new model altogether?

Looking forward to the Hyundai SUV and Pulsar 2012! Also, i suppose Fortuner facelift will be present in the auto expo.

Subtract 1.5 lakhs from the price of current fiesta sedan - and we still have a grossly overpriced hatchback!

It wont be better than Innova.

Maruti Ertiga is a smaller car (The spy pics thread has a picture of it alongwith an Innova). But this size is actually is a big advantage for cities, and for families who buy Innova for daily use and occassional 6+ seater capabilities.

True! Quite surprising news, even if its a concept.

I think press might be convusing Ertiga as an SUV. (For some media, even Xylo and Innova are SUVs )

Re: 2012 Auto Expo - What to Expect?!

Hi All,

How about the Hyundai Avante (Elantra)? it's been doing rumours for a long time now, was supposed to be launched by the end of 2011.

Any news if that is also up for show/launch

It's not the Ertiga. Ertiga's production version will be launched. The SUV we are talking about is another one in the concept form. XUV has stirred a hornet's nest among the manufacturers and we can expect solid action in couple of years. The next entrant into the space will be Renault Duster showing up in Auto expo itself I believe.

Off-Topic:

Following that, 2-3 players will be coming in the same space / segment, Ford Ecosport, Nissan's version of Duster & Hyundai's SUV too. Just read that Toyota is eyeing the same space with a 10-12L SUV.

The Grand Vitara in CKD form with a good diesel mill would have tasted success as the XUV500 is enjoying today!

Interesting to see which platform will the use for this new SUV concept, or will they develop a new one for the same.

I believe Ford ecoSport and Nissan Duster will open a new segment in Indian car market. I have high hopes for the ecoSport.

Re: 2012 Auto Expo - What to Expect?!

Hope that Nano diesel is unveiled in the auto expo. With the buzz around the vehicle, it seems that the D power will probably resurrect the tiny Nano and bring in some glorious numbers on board. It may be a real possibility since Ratan Tata unveiled the Nano for the first time at the very same expo and it would be a very long time before the next one happens.

+1 Is there any news that 2012 BMW 3 is going to be launched? I really hope that it is launched here soon.

What is the difference between Skoda Fabia and Skoda Monte Carlo? Both look exactly the same when I saw the pics.
Also is Skoda Fabia Scout going to be launched in India? Or is it just for viewing?
Is there news that Ssangyong is going to be launched under its own brand name or are they going be re branded as Mahindra's and sold in India? I think in the Expo they will share space with Mahindra if at all they come.

.
monte Carlo is a cosmetically souped up Fabia; blackened pillars, roof, alloys etc..
Checkout the Skoda worldwide site.

Re: 2012 Auto Expo - What to Expect?!

One more question
The ones they show on display in Auto Expo, will those models come into market straight away or will they take time like 3 months or so?

Re: 2012 Auto Expo - What to Expect?!

Don't think there will be a Manza CS.
Dzire CS - How much shorter can they make it?
Xylo CMUV - Good Idea - will open a new segement.
Safari Merlin - Hopefull finally.
Fortuner AT - Hope it comes close to current price levels - learning something from the XUV on the pricing.
Aria AT / XUV AT - who knows?
Punto Refresh - A bit optimisting at this stage, but badly needed - actually remove the premium that they charge for the 90 bhp diesel and they are set even with the current one.
New look Civic - Possible.
Fiest hatch - Hope they are not too demoralized with how we have reacted to their fiests sedan pricing and learn a lesson for the hatch or well will have Jazz part 2
Nano diesel - too soon after the petrol refresh.

The outlook this year is somehow not as nice as it was last year and the industry is in bad times.

No ground rules on the launch times as such, depends on the product. If they display production version, the delivery can start immediately. I hope Ertiga & Fortuner 2WD / AT etc may start deliveries soon after the expo.

On the other hand, if the model showcased is a concept version, the launch might be couple of years away.
