re: The Renault Lodgy

From the looks of it, appears to be worthy for a significant presence in India provided its priced in line with the competitors in the similar space.

Not a head turner but definitely not an offensive deign. If it is priced right then it could become a good alternative to the Mobilio and Eritga. Most reviews found online are full of praises for the Lodgy.

re: The Renault Lodgy

Not sure whether Lodgy can make an impact like Duster. Prior to pre-launch days of Duster, the reviews were not quite positive and few were harping about being a cross over not having 3rd row, earlier Renault models could not make an impact etc., However on day of launch, Duster made a huge impact which was very surprising even for Renault. Competition is going to get quite intense with this new MPV. Welcome Lodgy to India.

This humongous mpv has a wheelbase of 2850 mm even higher than innova . To get a touch screen infotainment system besides giving acres of space . I think it will give a run for their money not only to ertiga / mobilio but also to innova . To get 1.5 lts 85 ps / 110 ps duster like combo . This launch will be quite interesting in the mpv segment .

I think this could be launched in 2015 2nd quarter (Apr-Jun) after Duster minor facelift launch towards end of February.

re: The Renault Lodgy

Renault's (Dacia's actually) product line seems so relevant to India. The timing of the launches too is pretty spot on with Duster & now Lodgy too. If they launch well (price, features, engine options), i am quite sure they have a winner here.

Having said that, the current Stepway design/looks seems weird. Duster also seemed weird to me when it was launched, though!

re: The Renault Lodgy

Finally a car that can take on the Innova!
No doubt, the innova may be the better car overall in terms of quality, fit and finish. But Toyota has increased the prices of Innova significantly over the last few years and now the innova looks very overpriced. I'm sure the Lodgy may be at par with the duster or may be just a little expensive, but if Renault can keep the pricing between 12-14 lakhs OTR for a decently kitted mid variant, then they have a winner in their hands. Even the taxi segment could heavily tilt towards the Lodgy given the decent workhorse kind of reputation that the Logan has built.
I hope renault doesnt get too ambitious and price it too close to the Innova.

Spotted this camouflaged MPV in Chennai a couple of days ago. They carried TN number plates and think its the Spin as the alloys looks like Chevy's.

re: The Renault Lodgy

Does anyone have confirmed pics/reports of a roof mounted rear air con? The European spec doesn't seem to have that and I reckon this is exclusively customised for India? An uodate in this regard would be nice.
