| ![]() Any updates on the forthcoming launch of the facelifted E-Class, The dealerships here in Delhi are talking about an impending July Launch as the current stock of pre-facelifted cars is fast depleting (aided by some handsome discounts on offer). Also for a prospective buyer, does it make sense to wait for the facelifted version or avail of the present discounts and get over with the purchase... Cheers ! |

But if you are not worried about the resale value then you can go ahead with the present one as it is a competent car on its own and as they say "once a star , always a star" you can also try out the star agility leasing programme , there by being assured of the value of the car at the end of the lease quantum.

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() This means more fab discounts on the current gen E-class. Dealers are already making offers to potential buyers of the C luring them with even better offers on the E! All signs say the new E is indeed coming soon. I think the current E's design is better than the upcoming model which looks more like a baby S - and that's not necessarily a bad thing, but then it looses on the aggressive front and becomes more soft and subtle. BMW's 5 is also getting a makeover as we speak! Last edited by 9thsphinx : 10th June 2013 at 09:42. |

But BMW 5 series facelift is like a blink-and-miss affair, that is its not as apparent as in the case of E-class.

| ![]() Link to News Section A report with its origins from the Press Trust of India, carried by TheHindu, states that the Mercedes Benz E-Class Facelift is due for a launch in India, on the 25th of June 2013. The facelifted 2014 E-Class being up and ready for a launch isn't very surprising as a report originating on IndianCarsBikes suggested that the new E-Class, along with the B-Class Diesel, had already reached ARAI for the critical homologation process. So, a June-end launch for the E-Class is very much on the anvil. ![]() The facelifted 2014 E-Class is a comprehensive makeover of Mercedes Benz's best selling car model in the Indian luxury car market. The facelifted model comes with a host of changes, both on the exteriors and the interiors. The front end gets a major revamp with new, single unit headlamps replacing the twin pod units. The front bumper is an all new item while the grille gets a big dollop of chrome. At the rear, the bumper and tail lamps see a makeover, which is more sober than the sharper style job up front. A new character line runs across the flanks of the car to enliven the profile of the car, for a more visually dynamic appearance. ![]() In terms of other notable changes, the low beam and daytime running lamps of the new headlamps get an all-LED treatment. Full LED headlamps are available as an option. Also, the 2014 Mercedes Benz E-Class, for the first time in the car model's history, will be available with two positions of the three pointed star, on the bonnet in the Elegance trim, and on the grille in the Avantgarde trim. ![]() On the inside, the new E-Class gets a revamped dashboard and center console. The seats get new upholstery and overall, Mercedes Benz claims that the interior trim has been given a once over to improve the feeling of quality. The space on offer on the insides remains unchanged as the 2014 E-Class retains the wheelbase and dimensions of the pre-facelift model. Under the hood, Mercedes Benz has added start-stop technology as standard to the 2014 E-Class, as a fuel sipping and emission cutting measure. From an Indian perspective, the German car maker has left most engines unchanged, with the only major difference being that the engines are now more frugal than ever before. ![]() On the safety front, the 2014 E-Class is loaded to the gills with active and safety passive features. From a host of Pre-Safe technologies to Distronic Cruise Control and automatic parking assist, the 2014 E-Class is feature filled, as is expected of a German executive luxury saloon. International markets also get a range of suspension options to choose from. We'll have to wait and watch for the exact spec of the 2014 E-Class that Mercedes Benz will launch in India. Apart from the E-Class, another major launch expected from Mercedes Benz India in June 2013 is the diesel variant of the B-Class. The B-Class Diesel will feature a 2.2 Liter turbo diesel engine that outputs 108 Bhp-250 Nm, the same unit that does duty on the A-Class sports hatchback. A 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox will handle torque transmission duties to the front wheels of the car. Mercedes Benz India is basking in the success of the recently launched A-Class sports hatchback, a car that has registered over 400 bookings in a short span of time. Launches of the A-Class sports hatchback, the B-Class Diesel, the GL-Class SUV, the 2014 E-Class facelift and the all new 2014 S-Class could give the German luxury car maker a solid shot in the arm this year as many of these cars have big potential to be volume pullers in the Indian car market. | ![]() Link to News Section Team-BHP's crack team of spy photographers are at it again and here are the first ever images of the facelifted 2014 Mercedes Benz E-Class sedan spotted in India. The car was spotted at Pune and from our sources, we know for a fact that the facelifted E-Class is a regular visitor of ARAI, an acyronym for Automotive Research Association of India. Every vehicle that is sold in India has to pass through the portals of ARAI, which is a body that certifies that vehicles sold in the country meet all regulatory requirements. Team-BHP's sources also inform us that the E-Class facelift has been given the homologation certificate by ARAI, paving the way for the car's launch in India. ![]() With that, Mercedes Benz has the facelifted E-Class 250CDI diesel luxury sedan up and ready for a launch in India. The 2014 Mercedes Benz E-Class in E250CDI guise features a 2.2 liter turbo diesel engine outputting 204 Bhp-500 Nm. This engine transmits torque to the rear wheels of the car through a 7 speed automatic gearbox. In facelifted guise, the 2014 E-Class gets a start-stop system as standard across its variant range and the addition of this system is expected to do its bit to improve the fuel economy of the car. ![]() From the spyshots, it's evident that Mercedes Benz India will launch the Avantgarde trim of the E-Class facelift, the version of the car in which the three pointed star adorns the grille of the car rather than being situated on the bonnet (available on Elegance trim). This crucial difference is quite important in that it is the first time ever that the three pointed star is is being offered in two versions on the E-Class. The car is the best selling model for the three pointed star brand in India and the arrival of the facelifted version will do its bit to keep the model fresh in the high stakes luxury segment. ![]() ![]() Last edited by JayPrashanth : 11th June 2013 at 22:53. And this car looked like being designed to appeal the Chinese buyers from day one. The humorous thing is that, Chinese manufacturers themselves are getting more mature & restrained recently! ![]() | ||

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() I like the Elegance front with star on hood a lot more than the Avantgrade with Star in Grill. Interior are superb. The rear remains more or less the same. Overall thought this will up the game, the current E-Class does make for a great buy considering the discounts that will be on offer. There are many who will prefer the current E-Class front appearance more- Including me. Will speedup the depreciation on previous E280 and current look E250 and 350. Making these attractive preowned units. There though would not be any reason for the current E owners to sell off their vehicle -after all it looks better. It seems to be a similar scenario as had happened post Bangle change over in the 7 Series (when he first introduced his new look, not the recent exit). The Class has for long been identified with two separate Lights up front and the S with a single larger one while the C had two connected lights. This take away from that look for the E for the first time since the 1998 change into two ovals. I sure preferred the current E-Class Agro look a lot more. |

| ![]() That Avantgarde trim looks plain ugly, looks like there are going the fluidic way for the front. I wonder how beautiful and elegant looking cars can be spoiled so easily by the same manufacturer. I find the W211 to be the most beautiful E-Class. |
