| ![]() I saw the new facelift bumpers when I went to the dealership for my annual service and for me personally, they felt not just a cosmetic upgrade but a bit of practicality too. I can’t recall how many times I’ve hit the underside of my front bumper on hilly and bumpy roads. The new plastic protective thingy looks useful. Also , I have a question. I’m thinking of taking insurance claim for my windshield (large single crack line I don’t know how on front passenger side) and for my front bumper. Can I try to somehow pursue the surveyer to get me a facelifted bumper on my 1.5 TDI ‘16 ? I mean can older gen polos be fitted with new bumpers? |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() VW replaces DSG in Polo, Vento 1.0 TSI with 6-speed AT and 6-speed MT in the BS6 era. Affordability is the reason why the company has moved away from DSG transmissions as per VW officials. ( Reliability of the DSG was always a hit or miss) The compact, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, direct-injection turbo-petrol motor develops 115hp – 10hp more than the four-cylinder, 1.2 TSI. Torque is also higher at 200Nm. Now comes with a more affordable transmission. Quote:

| ![]() Does this mean that BS6 costs might get slightly offset by the cheaper gear box? A good opportunity for VW here to get some new customers. |

| ![]() The car is now exactly 10 years old since launch. I bought my Polo TDI Trendline in 2010 May/June for Rs. 6 lakh on-road, it was one of the first Polos to be delivered. In 10 years, they have done a couple of "facelifts" and all that has changed the front and rear bumpers, steering wheel, Infotainment system and the tweaked grill. Multiple engines have come and gone and auto transmission has been introduced. However, absolutely no changes to the body panels, seats, suspension, brakes, and most other aspects of the car. This means all their dies, tooling, production lines etc, which were set up 11 years ago are continuing to be used after being 200% depreciated and suppliers have probably been made to offer 10 rounds of price cuts on fully indeginized parts, assuming one cut a year. So Polo is probably the lowest cost car to make compared to any of the others in your list such as i20, Baleno, Altroz etc. The only difference is that instead of pocketing all the profit, they are starting to share dribs and drabs with customers through not increasing pricing every time a "new polo" comes along. | ![]() VW just killed i10 Nios Turbo. For just 30K over Nios, you get bump in power and plethora of features. Not to forget Polo is a small segment above Nios. Barring Hyundai reach and possibly cheaper service, Hyundai please tell me what are other reasons for me to get Nios over Polo TSi. I thin Highline plus AT isn't available as per official brochure. There is only mention of 6 speed Manual but no AT. Can someone please confirm? Also Highline plus has Electronic power steering with CEPS, what is this? Although, I am not sure how much to trust the brochure now since on page 31 of the same brochure mentions 'GT sports seats' while there is no GT variant on offer. Or, are they reducing the mighty GT to just dealership level upgrades? | |

| ![]() 1.0L TSi +TC seem to be India only combination. I looked for international forums and reviews are mostly for 1.0TSi + DSG. Also internationally this is either available with 95HP or 115HP tune. 110HP seem to be again India specific. |
