I don't think bringing 1.0 TSI would make sense as the rapid already come with the same, let's see what the future holds. I hope they price it competitively and not mess it up like the Kushaq.

There is no other choice other than to use the 1.0TSI. The same engine is used in the Polo, Vento as well as Taigun hence it cant be the case that that the Slavia wouldnt get it. It will allow them to price it over a large price bracket and also match the competitions 1.0 Turbo offering from Hyundai. Considering that Hyundai also charges quite a lot for the Verna Turbo, you can expect the Slavia 1.0 to be pitched against the same and then the 1.5DSG with a premium.

So that translates to 16-18 lakh OTR for the 1.0 turbo right? Considering the extra premium Skoda sprinkles over its prices compared to the competition
Lets hope we can see automatic variants under 18 OTR, I would buy the TC TSI anyday over the dull CVT offered by Honda.

Vento/Rapid is in its 12th year in the market. Do we really trust them to continue production for longer? I would be willing to bet that this ploy is only to avoid giving discounts on the ageing model till the replacement is ready to take over.

If the Slavia looks like that, wow.

Most sedans in that price range all look pretty good IMO - Honda City, Hyundai Verna, VW Vento, and Skoda Rapid. So looks alone won't be enough. I hope the 1.5 TSI engine is priced competitively.

Skoda's Slavia in new spy shots!

Slavia will carry a familiar Skoda face, with the same angular LED headlamp design as seen on the Octavia and Superb. The wide butterfly grille is also present while the front bumper seems like a fairly simple unit with a central air dam and halogen fog lamps. The Slavia is noticeable longer and wider than the Rapid and is roughly the same size as the erstwhile Laura.

Saw this mule on the Expressway yesterday. The rear design seemed a bit weird; the boot is a bit high à la the 3GT, but it doesn't have the coupe roofline to go with it. Nevertheless, it looked to be spacious on the inside. Height seemed more or less equal to the Rapid I was in. I could make out LED tail lamps through the camo.

Is this an all new car based on the Kushaq platform? or is it the latest version on the old Rapid platform (i.e. the 2021 car sold in the UK -https://www.carwow.co.uk/skoda/rapid#gref)
