Oh yes, never thought of that aspect! The BMW 3 SERIES and similar give you much more car for your money! Anyway, Skoda is definitely going to be extinct, and this space for premium D sedans is a dying breed in India. Toyota understood it and pulled out its Corolla.

Besides, the Rapid is also expected to get a facelift with the same design language. Once that happens, these cars would no longer be distinguished easily, and we would be back to square one.

1.5 TSI surely will be in the 20-25 range. 2L TSI will be 25-28 range IMO. We can all guess and hope and wait. Let us see!

I think this is a mistake? Perhaps someone just copy pasted the last gen cars details without thinking. Haven't VW group said they are no longer selling diesels in India anymore. Also how come the new 1.5 tsi is nowhere in sight?

There are the engines options of the previous generation octavia. These engines are not bs6 compliant.

Halogen front turn signals are ugly IMO. Why can't they integrate it with the DRL? They have done this with the superb also, makes it look cheaper. Cost cutting I guess? So, there isn't any hope for the matrix leds then.

Maybe a lower variant like the current Octavia & Superb Style? Detracts big-time from the premium feel of the vehicles. Matrix LEDs should definitely come as standard for a brand new 2022 D1/2 segment luxury sedan!

So apparently Zac Hollis has confirmed that the launch has now been pushed to Q2 of 2021. Feels like a decent option in this segment is going to be a never ending wait.

Interesting to note that pricing will be between 18-23 lacs. That'd make it 23-29L OTR price range. Not bad at all for 2L TSI + 7-speed DSG combo? But then again, launch got pushed - which would probably mean that they are yet to do the price-band discovery, owing to current market situation.
