| ![]() I wonder if Renault will provide the engine in the Duster with the same power rating. I doubt if the existing CVT can handle 250 Nm of torque. |

Team-BHP Support ![]() ![]() | ![]() Wow! Those are impressive figures. 156 PS of power and peak torque of 250 Nm - that's ahead of the Kia Seltos 1.4 TGDi with 138hp and 242Nm! I wish it was launched in the new generation Duster, rather than this 8-year-old car. Nice engine, wrong car! Last edited by CrAzY dRiVeR : 6th February 2020 at 13:43. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() This is the same engine that is present in the new gen A/CLA class. Apparently it is pretty potent for the displacement. |

| ![]() The offset of diesel by giving high powered petrol engines will have a big impact on fuel economy. Can expect almost half of the previous diesel km/l. Let's see how the public takes it. |

Senior - BHPian | ![]() Wow, this is good! Impressive power and torque combo. And, icing on the cake is CVT. My bro bought Duster petrol 1.5 CVT a year back, in Bangalore, and I thoroughly enjoyed driving it during my visit there 3 months back. That thing just glides over bad roads and CVT is super smooth and seemless. Yes, hard acceleration was not quite there but with the advent of this new power/torque figures, I'm sure that would be taken care of. Just one little thing though. I can't get why they still couldn't bring the new Duster. They're virtually killing brand Duster in India. |

| ![]() Big shoutout to Eddy for shooting these pictures & his coverage of the Auto Expo. Thanks for sharing, man! Renault has displayed the Duster with a new turbocharged petrol engine under the hood paired to a CVT automatic gearbox: ![]() The car is a top-end RXZ variant finished in Caspian Blue. The grille gets a red insert on one side: ![]() Apart from the badging and a few red accents including the DUSTER lettering on the tail gate, it looks identical to the other Dusters. Also note that there is no plastic cladding next to the tail lamp cluster: ![]() The car comes with projector headlamps and LED DRLs: ![]() The fog lamp pods get a red insert instead of chrome: ![]() This car rides on 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with a new design. The wheels are shod with 215/60 Apollo Apterra rubber. The present Duster comes with 16-inch wheels: ![]() Satin chrome door sills: ![]() The SUV gets black roof rails with DUSTER lettering in red: ![]() Vertical LED tail lights similar to the present car: ![]() The boot gets a 'Turbo' badging: ![]() The interior is identical to the present car. Renault could have tweaked the interior for the new car: ![]() The 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel comes with silver inserts: ![]() A start / stop button has not been provided. Even the Triber gets one: ![]() Black doorpads come with brown inserts and a chrome door handle: ![]() A look at the detailing on the brown front seats: ![]() The climate control switches are the same as the current Duster: ![]() The dashboard gets a blue trim. Even the present Duster gets a blue trim here: ![]() The gear lever gets a silver insert: ![]() A look at the driver's footwell: ![]() This Duster comes with a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine. | ![]() Thinking aloud, specs remind me of the erstwhile Laura 1.8, if the manual is a patch of that TSi, this thing might be a hoot to drive, Renault keep the base < 10 L ex-showroom. Got the ride and now the specs to match up.Fingers crossed. PS: Specs wise it's right up there with the Jeep Multiair, so if priced well, shall ring in some numbers for Renault. | ![]() Whoa. Where did Renault get this out from? That much torque and power in a reasonably light SUV will make it a pocket rocket. Surprise of the Expo for sure. Any idea when it will be launched in India? |

| ![]() That's a pleasant surprise. ![]() Interesting fact- this engine is also used in Mercedes A class. The reviews of this engine are good in international media. One example https://www.thesun.co.uk/motors/1082...cedes-a-class/ |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Startling fact: Skoda Octavia 1.8 TSI: 178 bhp & 250 NM resulting in power-to-weight & torque-to-weight ratios of 129 & 182. Renault Duster 1.3 TCe: 154 bhp & 250 Nm resulting in ratios of 131 & 212 (assuming kerb weight similar to 110 diesel unit) ![]() Last edited by itwasntme : 6th February 2020 at 21:45. |
