Re: Jeep Compass facelift launch in early 2021

Fiat can regularize the discount they are offering + dealer discounts and reduce price accordingly. Afterall, that's what the market is willing to pay.
Honda did it once with the first gen jazz. There is no shame in admitting mistakes and pricing mistake is the most common mistake the automakers make.
Jeep compass is so good looking that it doesn't need a facelift. Just add scorpion alloys from abarth punto in 17/18" size , drop the price by 5 lakh and take my money .

Re: Jeep Compass facelift launch in early 2021

Arriving in 2021 Jeep Compass face-lift , 7 seat Jeep 'Grand Compass' and Agro based SUV.

Jeep Compass face-lift:

Quote:
The restyling of Compass will not have as many new details. With the exception of the front, which receives new headlights, grille and bumpereven before the seven-seater version, the body does not change. In the rear there should not even a new trunk cover, only the bumper will be changed, and you will need to be well observant to repair. The lanterns, yes, will gain a new internal design, more refined and with LED signature distinct from the current model.

The big news will be the engine 1.3 Firefly T4 flex, which must equip the intermediate and top of the line versions with front-wheel drive, in addition to bringing the new CVT gearbox to the Jeep line. There is still no consensus on maintaining the 2.0 flex with a six-speed Aisin gearbox in the incoming Sport version.

The interior will also receive novelties, such as a new multimedia center and the design of the front panel. Driving assistance controls, such as track maintenance and active speed controller, will be available from intermediate settings.

Jeep ' Grand Compass '7 seater:

Quote:
In 2021, will also have a seven-seater version. From column B back the SUV will be completely new to house the extra seats. There will be a large third window that will be separated by 12 cm from the rear cover of the SUV.

Among the aesthetic changes, the "Grand Compass" will have the very new "face" that the Jeep Compass will present to the market in 2021. The headlights will be slightly changed, which will become narrower and invade the front fender in a few centimeters.

The grille with the iconic seven slits will be almost imperceptibly shifted upwards, and there will be subtle touches on the frames of the fog lamps and the lower air inlet, now in the middle of the piece, unlike the current model, which brings a part attached to the bumper.

Jeep took care of the identity of the car and kept the ceiling line, which ends in an S-shape when it meets the rear. However, the look became more "boxy",with an airfoil that follows straight to the end of the ceiling and houses the third brake light. In the rear, sobriety will prevail.

The lanterns, like the headlights, will get thinner and will not have that rounded portion that invades the lid, as in the current Compass. The plate holder will remain on the trunk cover.

The luggage space with the seats folded will arrive close to 700 liters; however, with the extra seats in use, it should not reach 110 liters — even drama that live other average SUVs that have seven seats, such as Peugeot 5008 and Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace

Re: Jeep Compass facelift launch in early 2021

Sorry to say, but it is very hard to see any change here. Where is the facelift FCA ? Please don't go on VW Polo facelift way.. Please.

What do we need from FCA -

1. Provide a more powerful engine in Compass. Equip with paddle shifters.
2. Equip all Compass as 4WD and show it as its USP.
3. Absorb all cost hike due to these hardware changes. I am not in favor of price drop. It will just dilute whatever premium brand it has created for itself.
4. Give unconditional 7 years warranty.
5. Bring on Mini Wrangler/ Renegade quickly.
6. Create an economical version of Cherokee to compete with Endeavour and Fortuner.
7. Invest in after sales experience
8. Pray, people have money to buy these beasts.

Re: Jeep Compass facelift launch in early 2021

I would prefer more equipment and better engine gearbox tuning for the diesel auto in the facelift. Suspension and chassis is awesome. More performance from the multijet and features like front parking sensors, tpms, beats / alpine audio, better UConnect stereo system would be welcome. Well atleast the front parking sensors and TPMS. Its available internationally.
Also it has good rear seat comfort, so if possible Jeep can try for a recline adjustable rear seat angle.
Also if you are going to price the trailhawk 3-4 lakhs more than the limited, make sure it gets all the equipment too like abroad.

People were saying there will be sheet metal changes but now all the new renders show limited or non sheet metal changes which is great overall and bad for me :/

Avoided Jeep BS6 because of info that facelift will get metal changes.

Re: Jeep Compass facelift launch in early 2021

Here is my wishlist:

- Price the lower versions (Eg: Sport Plus) at par with the top end Seltos / Creta. Also get 17 inchers on the Sport Plus. Which will definitely get a prospective Seltos or Creta top variant shopper to think twice. Jeep needs to understand that some variants will bring in volumes whereas they can market the high-margin Limited+ variants to people after they have already decided to buy a Compass...

- Make the new 12.3 inch UConnect system standard across the range. Don't just limit it to the ~28 lakh OTR Limited Plus. To the average buyer, the size of the screen is more important than your typical Jeep Compass virtue (ride, handling, dynamics, Crash rating, build quality)

- Whats with the stupid Fuel Economy on the Petrols automatic/manual? Can it be improved? Also can the rear passenger seat be made more comfortable for 3 people?

None of the above is going to happen. So good luck Jeep India

Re: Jeep Compass facelift launch in early 2021

Jeep Compass ( facelift) for Europe as known so far:

-a new 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine replacing the previously-available 1.4-liter unit.

-The new engine is available in two power outputs: 130 PS (128 HP) and 150 PS (148 HP), each with a peak torque of 270 Nm (199 lb-ft).

-The lower-powered engine comes equipped with a six-speed manual transmission while the more powerful variant is hooked to a seven-speed automatic Dual Dry Clutch Transmission (DDCT).

-Both petrol engines are offered exclusively with front-wheel drive.

- an updated version of the 1.6-liter MultiJet II turbo diesel engine with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). The unit makes 120 PS (118 HP) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque in combination with a six-speed manual and front-wheel drive

- AWD will need to get one of the two Compass 4Xe plug-in hybrid models. Combining the 1.3-liter petrol with an electric motor and battery, they are available with two system outputs: 190 PS (187 HP) or 240 PS (237 HP).

-European-spec Jeep Compass is said to feature improve dynamics thanks to a lighter and more progressive steering as well as shock absorbers with FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) valves

-new Uconnect Services offered as standard on the 7-inch and 8.4-inch infotainment systems

- six new alloy wheel designs and five new exterior paints that can be combined with an optional black roof

Re: Jeep Compass facelift launch in early 2021

Curious as to how a 130BHP Jeep Compass weighing over 1.4-1.6 tonnes might be performing. Not very sprightly, I'd assume.I guess the Indian buyer may not look kindly at any downgrade of engine specs like the ones being provided in EU.

Re: Jeep Compass facelift launch in early 2021

More details on the Updated Jeep compass for Europe. Arriving in Brazil in early 2021.

Jeep Compass 2021 debuts 1.3 turbo engine up to 150 hp and does not change the design.

Jeep Compass facelift launch in early 2021-j1.jpg

Quote:
At the front, the grille with the iconic seven slits was almost imperceptibly shifted upwards. It has subtle touch-ups on the frames of the fog lights and the lower air intake, now in the middle of the piece, unlike the current model, which brings a part attached to the bumper.

At the back, all the same. The bumper has been slightly altered, but it is also almost impercible. The lanterns, yes, have gained a new internal design, more refined and with distinctive LED signature of the current model.
The SUV receives the 1.3 turbo engine in the versions of 130 hp and 150 hp and a new multimedia center, but has practically not changed anything in the design, changing only the internal design of the lanterns, which also have an LED signature.

In Europe, it will be available in 130 hp and 150 hp versions, always delivering 27.5 kgfm of torque. The 130 hp version works with the 6-speed manual transmission, while the 150 hp is combined with a double-clutch, 6-position dry box. In both cases the traction is fwd.

For Europe, it will still be sold with 1.6 turbodiesel of 120 hp and 32.6 kgfm, offered with manual transmission of front-wheel drive.

The double-clutch transmission should not arrive in Brazil, being replaced by the 6-speed automatic or even by the CVT that is also being developed for the aspirated 1.3.

Quote:
Another novelty is the arrival of the Compass 4xe, hybrid version of the average SUV. It had already been introduced and was even in pre-sale, but now makes its official debut. It uses the same 1.3 turbo engine, but in combination with an electric unit that moves the rear wheels, delivering 240 hp and promising an efficiency of up to 47.6 km / liter. The news has already been confirmed for our market, but ended up being postponed until the middle of next year
Quote:
Compass starts using the Uconnect Services multimedia center, which debuted at Renegade 2020 in Europe. It uses 7 or 8.4 inch screens, working with services integrated with the application on the cell phone, smartwatch and even the website, with functions such as locking and unlocking the doors, sending a destination to the vehicle's GPS, receiving alerts in real time about traffic or weather and more. The hybrid version will also have a function to monitor the battery charge, set up a charging time and find nearest charging stations.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Compass facelift has been revealed. Honestly I don't recognise visual changes (if any). They have put a sport mode button other than that everything feels superficial.

Re: Jeep Compass facelift launch in early 2021

So this wasn't a facelift revealed today? Just new petrol smaller engine and even downgraded diesel.

Does this mean we will start seeing cheaper 1.6L MJD variants as well?

Or does this essentially mean this is not for India since 1.3L engine nobody will buy and I doubt after investing so much in 2.0L, they will add a 1.6L.

I wasn't expecting anything from this unveil. Knowing FCA and having owned their products for over 10 years now you can always expect little or nothing and a whole lot of delays( waited for the Trailhawk for ever ).

I actually like your line of thinking on the 1.6 MJD. Considering we may not see the Renegade, the 1.6 MJD, is what the Compass needs now. The cheaper costs will allow it to compete on price with the Seltos/ Creta and T Roc at the premium end.

The 2ltr engine can be offered as an option on the Compass and as standard equipment on the 7 seater( unless they have a bigger engine assembled in India).

They have to reposition the Compass now or they will be swallowed whole by the Korean siblings.
