re: Renault Kiger Crossover launched at Rs. 5.45 lakh. EDIT: Driving report on page 19

Many similarities are there with Magnite in both exterior and interior.

But interior certainly looks premium than Magnite with classy looking MID.

How they have pulled off 405 lit boot space in a sub 4m car!!

With both AMT and CVT, Renault is launching Kiger all guns blazing.

re: Renault Kiger Crossover launched at Rs. 5.45 lakh. EDIT: Driving report on page 19

Kigar looks like a grown-up Kwid and the front resembles that of Triber. But inspite of the resemblance to it's cousins this car certainly looks stunning. AMT & CVT along with manual and a tourbo engine should keep the customers happy.

guess renault held back few features like ventilated seats and sunroof for seasonal upgrade down the line.

Good thing is this car doesn't look anything like magnite from the front. side profile is almost the same which is OK.

If magnite pricing is an indicator then nexon, brezza, sonet and venue will have a serious competition coming their way.

on a side note if the tourbo engine makes it's way to triber it might pull some customers away from kigar

I could only see a Kwid in those pictures. Some distinction should have been made in the design. I think Magnite feels well executed in comparison with Kiger.

re: Renault Kiger Crossover launched at Rs. 5.45 lakh. EDIT: Driving report on page 19

Pretty good design, although I do agree it looks a bit too much like the much smaller Kwid. The rear somehow makes it look smaller than it actually is. The Magnite has a cleaner, safer exterior that will appeal to more and might just age better as well.

Though when it comes to the interiors, Renault has definitely taken it up a notch. The air vents, infotainment touchscreen etc seem much better implemented than in the Nissan. And a 405L boot in a sub-4m crossover! Kudos! Even though these guys designed a sub-4m "MPV" having a 625L boot with two rows up, it was unexpected in this segment.

Also, offering an automatic with both engine options is likely to pique most buyers' interest.

That's, that's puberty done absolutely right! Looks like Kwid decided to hit the gym right when entering teens, and it all turned out nice and handsome.

re: Renault Kiger Crossover launched at Rs. 5.45 lakh. EDIT: Driving report on page 19

From watching the unveil, early assessment is Renault has done a good job. Visually, it looks very appealing and insides too, quite similar to the Nissan Magnite, but they've made some attempts to bring difference.

Definitely, a very good looking sub-4m compact SUV. I often read that Renault is very good with their suspension setups. If this Kiger is also sorted with ride and handling, it should be a very good competitor for Tata Nexon, wouldn't you think?

Keen to know more, in the coming weeks/ months. But seems like a vehicle to not miss, in the segment, with design + features in consideration. Only thing of much interest to me is knowing the crash worthiness of the model.

They did not talk about the Safety features of the Kiger throughout the presentation. Or did I miss any of that?

I hate the Datsun grill on the Magnite. And also the Magnite's interiors felt spartan. The Kiger has solved both of these qualms of mine. I feel the tyres deserve an upsize and also, where is the sunroof? There is no mention of a sunroof anywhere.

re: Renault Kiger Crossover launched at Rs. 5.45 lakh. EDIT: Driving report on page 19

IMO, it looks better than Magnite. Good that this time around, they didn't do Duster/Terrano copy-paste job. Now Magnite and Kiger have distinct identities. You don't have to look at badges to tell 'em apart. I like this one better than Magnite. I think curvy looks better on mini-SUVs and full-size SUVs like better boxy.

Front end looks Kwid-like but that's ok I guess. Everyone likes Kwid for its looks. We loved Kwid so much, we would have bought one if it had come with a CVT, for my F-in-L. From three quarters rear, Kiger looks a bit i20Active like. I hope they price it within milimetres of Magnite and not get adventurous.

Are there no fog-lamps? 3-barrel LED headlamps look swell. Can't figure out if tail-lamps are LED or incandescent bulbs.

Do we know when the prices for Kiger will be released?

Car looks good - if they get a 4+ safety rating, this should sell in good numbers.
