![]() To accommodate the lifting of parts they took out the wiper delay settings mechanism from the Baleno. I mean come on - that is such a vital feature particularly in the top model - but they think it is going to go unnoticed. Let's just use what we have been using on 5 different models for over 10 years. Some elements are ok to use across but they should not like copy paste things like the infotainment/steering wheel / instrument cluster - across the board from 8 lacs to 14 lacs - across swift baleno brezza. I think we should judge cars as they are targetted. Kia/Hyundai - they are gizmo-heavy with lots of combinations of engine and gearbox. Maruti is a bread-and-butter manufacturer who just want to keep doing what they do right, just two engines, one fuel option, and three gearbox types which very recently was just 2. It is up to the consumer to speak with their wallets, who they will choose - and the numbers speak for themselves. Last edited by cr4nkshaft : 9th June 2022 at 14:34.

BHPian | ![]() Whoa! The slab sided back makes it look like an MPV. In this cut-throat sub 4m SUV segment, one needs to nail the design atleast. Plus lack of diesel engine and not a very modern automatic, will really cost sales. It might still lead the segment, but by a smaller margin. Maruti is overall steadily losing market share, since the past few months. If not diesel, they need to atleast jump onto the EV bandwagon, like Tata did with Nexon. Refurbished Venue looks better than before, plus the Nexon and Sonet are doing quite well, with the number of variants they offer. So game on! |

| ![]() While I was initially underwhelmed with the lack of engine options and the lone not that exciting engine, but the looks and interiors look like a major step up from the previous one, to the point that we are seriously considering stretching our budget a bit to aim at lowest variant of Brezza as my wife's next car, she doesn't give a damm about power and performance and otherwise the refinement, drivability and mileage seems to be good. If the lowest variant like the one in the current one comes with the basics like remote central locking, all 4 power windows, audio system and comes around 9 lakhs on road, we might just buy this over the other options. (Baleno, i20, Amaze and even Venue since this engine is anyday superior to 1.2 kappa in a relatively heavy car like Venue) It will be a difficult choice for us as mostly all options are brilliant for her needs, god bless competition and choices. PS Everyone should ignore the recent exterior shots as they are clearly skewed like the ones in XUV700 and they are warping the shape in a weird way (which is not easily fixed in editing), one explanation is the ultra wide lens in phone cameras which distorts the image but this looks to be some sort of mischief, both this and XUV had the same issue, why would someone do this? I tried fixing it Bottom Is Before Top is after ![]() Last edited by Rocketscience : 9th June 2022 at 16:31. |

It is not slab-sided. Scoop pics show it has a slanted rear. ![]() ![]() Quote:
Venue had a decent-looking rear, but with the face lift, they ruined it again by adding end-to-end lights. Last edited by romeomidhun : 9th June 2022 at 17:18.

A Maruti service centre in a small town that stocks 20 pieces of door handles which fit on Alto, WagonR, A-star, Celerio, Swift, and a couple of more models is any day more beneficial for the company as well as the customer than keeping 4-5 pieces of door handles for each of those cars if they were different. That's one major reason i could think of. This again, applies the same for the spare parts dealers and local FnG's.

| ![]() Hold your horses! The camera angle and the highly distorted image makes it look uglier than it actually is ![]() |

With Ford out of the Indian markets, probably the better description could have been segment unique.

As you can see from the table, the average monthly sales for Brezza for the past six months are around the 10,500 mark, not 12,000. Tata Nexon sells more (avg 13562; mkt share ~30%), and if we take into account the combined sales of the Hyundai group (HMIL+Kia) avg 15779; mkt share ~36%), Brezza stands third in sales and market share (avg 10480; mkt share 23.5%). Even if you take standalone sales figures for Venue (avg 9644; mkt share ~22%), they are not too far off from that of the Brezza, market share more so. Agreed that the standalone sales figures for Brezza are commendable from just one engine and two gearboxes. But what I meant to say earlier was that the competition is very tough in the sub 4m SUV segment and it is not going to get any easier for Maruti, even with a refresh and more features. Lack of a turbo petrol, EV variant, diesel engine, and a DCT automatic are still going to hurt sales. Even though the Hyundai group doesn't have an EV (like Tata's Nexon) they have many options to spoil a customer - NA Petrol, Turbo Petrol, Diesel - plus a combination of gearboxes from manual and iMT to DCT.

2. If Brezza can sell this much with 5 years old design, a spartan interior and an AMT, the sales figures can only go up with an updated design, modern interiors and snazzy gimmicky features. And its design is not a let-down like i20 to cause serious sales loss. The only negative factor that could affect is its expected price increase. 3. Note that Hyundai/KIA could manage only 15K with all its "NA Petrol, Turbo Petrol, Diesel, manual iMT to DCT" combinations.

| ![]() Why are we getting in mini flame wars in this thread over door handles and 1.5k gap in sales numbers ![]() To try to get back on course, can see quite a lot of blank switches in the hud/360 switch units. If these are shared parts indeed, what are those switches for and what car in MSIL stable has those? Also, wondering if the HUD will be updated later to show driving direction prompts, because the current choice of metrics are not really useful on HUD. |

| ![]() This image makes it look like its not having an HUD. But Steering\cruise controls, push start is visible, however, the Arm rest is missing. So I believe, it might be from a VXI or ZXI model. The images showing the Auto Gear lever and Sunroof might be coming from the Top most model ZXI+ AT. Hoping, VXI and ZXI models are not missing too many basic features. |
