I am reminded of a joke that appeared in The Statesman, Kolkata in the early 1980's.A buyer bought a brand new Ambassador during monsoon and water was entering the passenger cabin due to a manufacturing defect.Obviously, the buyer went to the dealer who could not rectify the problem to the buyers satisfaction.
An argument ensued and the dealer said, "Don't see the body, see the engine."

Premier Padmini would be a better choice between Padmini & Amby, as it can achieve a good speed & it also has a good engine life; & also a slight nostalgic car for me.

How to select both the options because we had both the cars and we have driven more than 10years on both. fantastic and nostalgic to see them on the road

My vote goes to the Amby.
I learnt to drive in one at the age of 14. Ever since, I have driven Mark2- Mark 4, Nova, Grand.
Its like a timeless design.
And of course, the object of my childhood/adulthood fantasy: a V12 mill in the Amby and then pulling a wheelie with it

I voted for the Padmini.
Though most of my travel when I was young was in Amby's, Padmini was the car I took out on the road after I learnt to driving!
Used to have lot of fun in the Padmini.

Clearly the Premier. I STILL own and drive one. Though it would be for maybe just another fortnight by the time my SX4 is delivered.....

I have driven Fiat 1100 D [my dad's] and old Amby. It was always a 'delight' to drive, pun intended! So, it goes without saying that I voted for PP, the former's successor.

Voted for Padmini as I've been driving one since 1996 and still own one.

Padmini, like the historical figure from which its name was borrowed, was just irresistible. I still miss the looks of my father's old car on which I learnt to drive. My first car was a second hand NE118 (in 1999) which was also excellent in all over performance. Ownership of my old NE thrilled me more than the later possession of brand new cars.

My vote goes to the HM Ambassador....
built like a tank, sofa like back seats (till now the most comfortable rear banch, now that is an achievement) and reliable.

We did own an Ambassador and it served us very well for close to 30 years. It was a Mark2 model. During 1980's ambassador was the car that people wanted to own. Like it is called "owners delight and neighbours envy"
