ha, ha, ha, why dont Fiat consider the comfortness and sentiments of Indian car owners regarding the reproduction of the so called Fiat Padmini with all new features

Has anyone performed swapping engines in Fiat or Amby. I am really keen on that. I would love to have a black Fiat with Gypsy engine.

There are a lot of Padminis running on a lot of stuff.
But a perfectly running stock padmini is often enough.

Its Amby for me-the National Car. The Premier evokes enough nostalgia too and is also on my priority list, but when you have to vote for one, like in our elections, its the Amby for me.

The amby it is, for me. Because it is the car I know of, from the options listed. Never really rode/drove a Premier Padmini before.

Ambassador, I like it because of its bulk. And still sells.

I had learnt driving in an Ambassador. Yet to drive a Premier Padmini.

Fiat rules

For me Fiat 1100D was a far better car than Ambassador. It was spirited to drive, looked better and the engine was a dream.

PAL messed up with the car in its transition from Fiat 1100D to Premier Padmini.

Regards

Jaskirat

PS: Maybe you should add Standard Herald to the survey!

The Padmini, of course. My dad had one from 1978 to '99 and that was the car I used to drive around as soon as I got my licence. Even sneaked it out of the garage a couple of times when I was about 17 for a quick joy ride. Yeah, I know its not legal, but in my defence, I lived in a small town and there was hardly anyone on the streets. Also had ambys but always preferred the padmini even though it was more prone to giving trouble. Push starts were common on winter mornings.
Learned to drive on an amby, though.
