The Fiat!

I learnt to drive on an Amby. but the Fiat (P.Padmini) is definitely more fun to drive.

Cheers,

Amby it is for me, just for its rear seat comfort and the ISUZU engine.
And the Icing on the cake is---it still sells. A modern day classic.

However, i really love the way the engine of the padmini sounds.

For me it's definitely the Ambassador!

Learnt driving (& continued to drive initially) on a long lineup of Ambassadors as we grew up in a joint family. 7 different Mark IIIs and Mark IVs (0ver the years) culminating in the 'butter smooth Big Daddy', the 1800ISZ. I was the designated driver to take out all the cars every morning at 0600 from our narrow parking area so that the cleaners could open the doors and do the interiors!

Loved them all. One thing about the Amby/Padminis was that every one of them had CHARACTER. Each was different in the way it 'felt'. A far cry from our standardized cars today!!!

Its Amby any time for me. A people's carrier & further never felt pot holes or rumble strips. I had one with a converted Toyota B1 turbo Engine and was forced to dispose it due to present PUC Norms.

Premier Padmini for obvious reasons that i learnt my driving on a premier and my family used to own premier padminis for over 20 years. We sold our last premier diesel in 1997.

A third option: neither of the two;
Fourth option: both (for just in case situations).

Amby for me. Some day when I have enough money, I will buy myself an Amby. Its an awesome car. I learnt my car care tips on my nana ji's 1969 Amby. As someone said, each Amby had a different personality and character.

It has to be Ambassador for me. The present one (Work horse) has been with us for the past 32 years and undergone a lot of modifications over these years. Though a couple of Padminis were owned by us but were ideally used as a second car

It should be the HM's Ambassador. A very practical car for India. Thats why its still available in the market.

I will go with the AMBY because I have only travelled in the back seat of both cars - so really dont know about driving dynamics etc. AMBY is supremely comfortable.
