Frankly speaking it looks better then i had expected.
Decently proportionate.

Need to wait for more details and obviously the price as well to make a final judgement.

Re: Spied testing: 7-seater based on Citroen C3

No idea what Citroen product planning were thinking when they decided 7 seats in a 4.3m vehicle.

Only explanation is they are targetting rural
semi rural customer.

Re: Spied testing: 7-seater based on Citroen C3

Only way this sells is if it sits between Triber and mid variant of Creta. Which is 9 to 15 lakhs ex showroom. Even then it is a hard sell going by the engine and interiors. The lack of any promotional materials before launch means nobody including myself knew about the launch today. I recently saw the 1999 launch video of the Mitsubishi Lancer in India and that event had more efforts than today's. Is Citroen even serious about our market or are they here only for exporting to poorer countries?

Re: Spied testing: 7-seater based on Citroen C3

The car looks really good and well proportioned. But Citroen is still committing to their original strategy of selling stripped-down, bare bones cars, which they should have figured out and changed after the C3 hatch's dud innings

I wonder where will this be placed though; so far it seems like it will fight the sub-4m Suvs neck to neck in price, but at that price Ertiga is the more preferred 7-seater. They might have to undercut Ertiga for it to have a respectable chance but that seems quite unlikely. Wishing all the best to Citroen.

Re: Spied testing: 7-seater based on Citroen C3

Inexcusable that it doesn't come with an automatic transmission + other wierd decisions that seem to be so discordantly jarring with the sensitivities of the modern Indian car buyer.

An absolute shame! Another bad decision. The demand would be replaced by other entrenched players. Hyundai + Kia and Maruti + Toyota seem like the most likely beneficiaries.

Re: Spied testing: 7-seater based on Citroen C3

While the car looks good on the outside - at least well proportioned , I am not sure if those are halogen units in the headlight? If yes then its the first big miss!

No difference in the interior layout compared to the C3 hatch. You can't simply expect the customer to walk in without sunroof, automatic transmission, automatic climate control and what not! Creta customer is not expecting a 7 seater layout! Those are pure bad product strategy decisions.

Also, in a market where you can get dual tone roof at Karol Bagh! What the heck is Citroen calling it as Customisation strategy??

Foreign OEMs take these decisions and then say - Oh Indian market is not conducive enough for growth!

Re: Spied testing: 7-seater based on Citroen C3

1.2 litre with 110hp for this hunk seems way too low.

Competition like the Creta, Kushaq and Taigun offer nearly 150hp.
Not sure why Citroen can't put a bigger engine in this. I am sure they have the resources to work on that 1.2 block and make it bigger. Or just invest in a new bigger engine.

Smart looking car otherwise.

Re: Spied testing: 7-seater based on Citroen C3

Car looks great. Proportions are perfect. The 7 seater is an overkill though. The engine numbers are also adequate. However I wish it had a diesel.

Overall this seems to be good replacement for duster assuming the French provides the usual great ride.

Ofcourse , would the price go the C5 way? Then Citroen better shut shop and leave

Yes, they could have offered a bigger engine. However, let us not forget that Taigun and Kushaq also come with a 1.0 L engine - 113 BHP and 175 Nm - and they seem to be selling well. Citroen offers 1.2 L (108 BHP and 190 Nm) and it is likely to offer similar performance as a Kushaq or Taigun 1.0 L.

Re: Spied testing: 7-seater based on Citroen C3

Old style flap-type door handles, no hand rest, engines which are inferior compared to its competition, and interiors that look spartan compared to what it is competing with!

Not commenting on how market would receive this car, but surely not something I personally would consider.

Re: Spied testing: 7-seater based on Citroen C3

Why this 7 seater SUVs/ tall Crossovers are suddenly in demand? Indian families are again becoming joint families from nuclear family format?

Any why no Automatic Transmission offered? Please announce the AT type and details. Any idea about the target timeline for the AT?

Is there any display car available in Delhi-NCR region?
