Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

Citroen have managed to keep the SUV looks on this one despite having a 7 seater option, by avoiding a 3rd window/quarter glass. No way does it look MPVish. Needs to be seen how much space it has in the third row. I guess this car will make sense for those who don't need a 7 seater as such, but would be good to have that flexibility.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

I quite like the styling. I hope they will start with price tag of 8.99 or 9.49 Lakhs ex showroom. Engine specs on paper looks ok, need to see how it performs in real world. This will compete against cars like Nexon, Brezza, Venue, Sonet, etc. and not with Creta, Seltos, Kushaq, etc. as they comes in next segment. They have to price this aggressively to gain some market share to start with. Being European I guess it will score good in safety ratings too.

After exit of few car manufacturers in last few years, we need new car manufacturer's to survive here. Competition is always healthy and beneficial for manufacturer's and customers both.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

I don't understand Citroen India strategy at all. They have a gem of a car in C5 Aircross and they price it like crazy. Another good looking hatchback c3 with no automatic. And now this c3 Aircross with the same mistakes. Come on Citroen India why are you guys wasting time and money.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

Citroen thinks Automatic climate control is not a necessary feature? Extremely surprising that someone will skip this feature in 2023!

The car has to go beyond its looks, with par for course features, engines and build quality.

Also, Citroen is likely to push for higher sales in urban markets given its limited dealerships, but how are they going to target see success here without an automatic? Understand this is going to come later, but when? I mean, we heard this word “later” even when the C3 was launched! And yet there is no timeline in sight.

This is a 4.3M with an effective tax rate of 45%. It will be hard to compete against the sub 4M cars like Nexon/Brezza with an effective tax of 29% to 31%.

They have obviously comprimised on features for practicality and price.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

"No frills, back to basics car" is the line which comes to my mind after seeing this car. I would keep an eye on the pricing and sales figures down the line.

I do not give a thing about sunroof, glad to find its absence, however does it not come with projector light setup in the front?

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

Citroen is neither a safe car as per the abysmal c3 ratings (0 stars Latin Ncap) as well as a feature rich car. Hope their safety rating is on game this time otherwise RIP in advance. Why would anyone buy a cheap unsafe car with archaic features from an unknown brand in India?

Tried really hard to control my itch, couldn't, responses -

1) With 50% of the junta in India driving the Maruti, most people should not be bothered about the safety, let alone Maruti, Kia, Hyundai et all birds of the same feather that flock together, Tata would be on the top of the charts, if safety would be priority for most of the aam junta.

2) Engine - they are bringing in 190 Nm that Maruti has not been able to do in 40 years of their existence, leaving the Fiat multijet apart, anyways, we are talking gasolines here.

3) Features - My Hexa, Thar, Optra, Figo and 1.6 Fiesta hadve/had no ACC, but go ask anyone who have owned these, each of these is something that they'll vouch for, I'm sure they (Citroen) would've included all safety features, audio and other stuff can be retrofitted.

4) Ride and Handling - I'm sure this shall be better than whatever the Maruti's have offered till date and other manufacturers in the same ballpark pricing band.

Cars are much more than features, feel and connect are the most crucial ingredients when looking out for one, features just add that little bit of convenience. Pity that most of us Indians land up buying that soggy, lame 1.2 (1.5 is the same with a different bore and stroke) from a 6L Swift to a 18L Brezza/Grand Vitara, aah that 1.0(every time someone calls it a boosterjet, I'm in splits for a while), wait till stocks last and it shall be shelved.

It might not garner the volumes but shall be close to all who land up buying one and this RIP, Feature mentality has already killed many a brands like the Chevy, Ford, Fiat etc.

To me, this would make a fantastic 5 seater, way better off than most of the hatchbacks sold, just that they price it right.

Please appreciate what they are offering and what the product is, simply writing it off does not serve any good.

It's the Engine, Chassis and Shell that should call out the fate of a car not it's features, sad part is, most of us are unappreciative of this fact & & on all of the above 3 reasons stated, this thing shall be better off than most of the DUN§ sold in our market.

Can go on and on, but, what would you buy, a base C3 Aircross or the Swift Zxi+ ?
