Does anyone know about the current state of supply chain logistics in the auto industry? The wait times used to be as crazy as 2 years in some cases earlier. Has the situation eased, or is it still the same? Is the Thar ROXX expected to have long waiting periods as well, even if one books on the opening day?

Does the Roxx share same front suspension as Scorpio which has seen issues of front suspension failures? Or is it different?

Not asking about airbags, because I guess that is a chance we have to take with any Mahindra car.

I think the supplychain issues are far better than it was during COVID times. Especially sourcing of motherboards and electronic components with respect to ICE, ADAS and vehicle diagnostics have improved significantly.

ROXX if it gets bumper opening (which it may), will have waiting periods similar to THAR 3D. Considering Mahindra has a limited capacity for Thar, it is bound to have similar waiting period

For Mahindra, the wait times are primarly driven by the demand. XUV700 is available anywhere between 6-8 weeks timeline and even quicker in somecases

SCORPION as per the dealer near me has a 4-6 month wait period for the Z8 and Z8L version

Mahindra, at the time of declaring results recently, informed that they are having close to 50K bookings and 2.2L backlog deliveries happening. If we go by the July 2024 sales figures, deliveries have happend for approx. 40k vehicles.

Maybe if Mahindra can increase the production volumes, it could potentially bring down the waiting period.

As per what I have been told by dealers, the back door opens 90 degrees to provide better ingress and egress.

Boot space might be less than 450 litres.

Probably gets decent mileage which is then offset by cost of DEF fluid and forced regens

I have a 3D thar. Never faced a forced regen in the last three years. The DEF fluid cost is negligible.

For your usage, yes. But for many others it’s a life style vehicle that mostly sits in the garage and does short trips so it is something to consider. Especially when weighed against the lower cost and increased power of the petrol. Personally, would still buy the diesel but I commute at high speeds on the highway every day.

I was merely responding to your statement of decent mileage getting offset due to forced regions and DEF costs. If you want me to be nuanced, you shouldn't make general statements either :-)

I have premonition there will be lot of Roxxanes on the road with all the hype Mahindra has created and wizzing past from left-right and every nook and corner on the road. Mahindra uses the same m-Hawk engine on Scorpio-N and XUV700, so I feel this engine can be tuned to output higher output comparable to Scorpio-N. I have not seen any videos of ECU tuning for m-Hawk on Thar from reputed ones like WolfMoto and Code6.


Couple of days back we were standing at a red light and there was a guy in Thar 3-door and he literally drove on footpath and merged back on the main road by crosscutting everyone and kept pushing the Thar car like he was driving off-road. I hope we don't end up with more such rash drivers on 5-door

I suspect the hardware, for eg: the Turbo might be different. Does the Scorpio N and the XUV 700 share the exact same hardware?
