Nope, for competitive pricing and a better range, they will avoid launching AWD in India. I wish they would, though.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Looks good. I hope it's priced aggressively.

The rear floor height is going to be a massive deal breaker though (as seen from the pictures earlier in this thread). We can only hope that would somehow be ironed out before they begin to take bookings.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

I really do not understand this trend of having the rear door handle on the window. To me this totally spoils the balance of the car's asthetics. The ICE versions of this car is nice to look at, with straight lines etc.

Why o why did Maruti have to make this change in the electric version !

if eVitara scores at least 4 stars in crash test ratings.
This is an internal test at Maruti's facility, not an official NCAP test. I think it is very unlikely they are targeting less than five stars in India, given they did so even for the new Dzire.

But the bigger question is Euro NCAP: it has been a long time since a car with a Toyota badge has earned less than four stars from Euro NCAP, but it is strange that the eVitara does not have a centre airbag considering far-side and occupant-to-occupant interaction tests have great weightage in Euro NCAP now. It is not impossible for it to be a Euro NCAP five star car but it does not appear very likely to me.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

e Vitara was on display inside Bagmane techpark, near food court. Car looks quite good and is about the size of Creta. Did not like front design as much.
Alloy wheel design is quite bad.

Interior looks nice and more upmarket, better than most Suzuki cars. AC vents looks quite good, metallic accents is a nice touch. I liked the seats, quite supportive and is a mix of leatherette/fabric. I always found fabric seats more supportive and Suzuki have done good job. Space at rear is okayish, may be the front seats weren't set high, I couldn't put my feet under front seat. Knee room is decent for folks under 5'10. Car didn't have charge hence, boot could not be opened.

Bookings not open yet and so is test drive.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Had a chance to check out the E-Vitara. Space and styling wise it is more of a grown-up hatchback than a crossover SUV. Spacewise it is bang midway between the Baleno and Grand Vitara. Boot space is compromised. So basically it will be an ideal city car. For long outstation trips luggage capacity will be an issue. And quickcharging on roads in the interiors is still iffy.

Has Maruti forgotten this car exists in India? When are they planning to launch it considering even the bookings haven't started

They will probably launch it within the remaining weeks of March, and some dealers have already started taking unofficial bookings.

All this is fine at least start the booking for the car? It is crazy how Maruti isn't even keeping a tab of when they plan to launch this car which is already delayed

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Suzuki will launch this car first in Europe and other nations as it is the primary sales target market for this vehicle. I don't see this coming to India before June this year.

Bookings for Toyota's Urban Cruiser EV and Suzuki's e Vitara have already opened in Norway.

Unofficial bookings are already being taken.

If I remember the Milan unveil, the plan was to launch in (European) spring and go on sale in summer 2025. That equates to April/May launch and July/August sale.

This timeline might be advanced a bit, but it is not delayed
