May I ask what would you do with the old engine? Why not something less drastic like VGT turbo or LPG fumigation

I went to the Nawabmotors showroom today and they happily told me about the feature but was not aware of the proces and other thinngs, when I told him all the deatils he was looking at my face ( its due to being a bhpian, i have the required informations, thanks to it). But he could not manage the TD. He told the demo vehical is not here at tis moment and will give me call around 12, its the time when Demo car is expected. it seems that tata has learnt to have separate TD vehicals.

hocuspocus & Aseem - Its not about putting out more power with more displacement, its putting out mroe power with lesser displacement. Hyundai Manages 112bhp from its 2L engine, GM manages 120bhp & Tata Manages 140bhp, wheras Toybota Managaes just a measly 102bhp, now do the maths and you will know what i am talking about, bhp per liter wise the Safari wins hands donw, Period.

I am really waiting for the eagle to get launched. Both the Tata and Mahindra engines are being done with AVL, so I want to pop the hood and see how they look underneath ;-).

busa - what they are tryin to say is that its not all about power. the innova has a 102bhp engine, 200nm or torque. sounds like nothing. but it is still pretty quick. now how is a car that is 102bhp quicker than a safari that is 115bhp?(the new safari will be quicker). its engineered well and its lighter than the safari.

the new safari is good and im waiting for a full td report from one of you guys comparing it to the 3.0 dicor.

It isnt, you know. Ask Nikkibike who was playing catch-up during the last Kerala meet. Or better still ask him what went past him when he was doing 120 on the highway.

How you forgetting 1.5 litre Getz puttting out more torque and bhp than 2.5 litre
Innova?

Nobody denies that the Innova is a brilliant package and an EXTREMELY well made vehicle. However, calling its engine cutting-edge is a bit over the top.

@ akshay1234 - lets not push the point. Just ask Nikki. Except on winding roads where he was able to get closer while on the curves/turns, he had to really push to keep up.

PS: Mods please consider removing all posts that arent launch-related. Let this not resemble the old garbage-bin thread.

So, what if Scorpio gets the new engine ? It is a highly cramped vehicle. Please do not compare to the comfort of Safari. I have the experience of driving both the vehicles and I tell you both the driver and passengers gets bruised in the Scorpio. With the steering near your face, you can hardly drive 200 KMs on the Scorpio at a stretch, after that your body starts aching. The same is the fate of the passengers, especially in the second and third row. Not to mention the ride quality !!

Atmost, it is a bigger auto rickshaw

went to Dhingra Motors, Gurgaon yesterday, Only EX and VX available for sale. At that time no TD was available.

There was a VX standing, had good look at that, this truck, no doubt is looking stunning.

Will go for TD today.

EX price quoted at around 8.6 lacs, exact will be told today.

Looks like Gurgaon is way behind from other cities

BTW, My Indica 2002 Model, well maintained, 89K KM driven was evaluated for 1.25 Lacs, sad. Anyways I am getting 1.5 Lacs from a travel agency, let see how it goes

What surprises me more is that LX 2.2 is costing Rs 7,33,000 in New Delhi and Rs 7,30,000 in Hyderabad... all other variants are higher priced in Hyderabad
