Pictures of all the new cars including GP are of left hand driver ones. But good to see that they are showing some signs of life.

The Grande Punto is smashing! Damn, why did I buy the SX4?!
Bravo and 500 slated to be launched in June 08, Palio 1.3 MJD should be on the way to the dealers....

FIAT updated his site by saying GP and Liena are expected to roll out soon from Ranjangaon within 2008. Great News FIAT lovers.

The company plans to double the production capacity for both car units and engines in the next few years. Currently manufacturing the Palio Stile 1.1 and 1.6 models, premium Fiat cars such as the Grande Punto and Linea are expected to roll out soon in the B and C segment from the facility within 2008. The facility will also manufacture Fiat’s successful 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engines and 1.2 & 1.4 litre Fire gasoline engine. Apart from Fiat cars, the facility will also produce Tata passenger and next generation cars with investment exceeding € 650 Million. The plant is expected to provide direct and indirect employment to more than 4,000 people.

Although no further information available, but looks like Fiat is coming back to life.
According to this month's ACI, both Bravo and 500 are going to be CBUs and will be in 10-15L range. Don't know why they are doing this

If Linea and Grande Punto launches are delayed further than the stipulated Mid-2008 and a few months later, I will also be really sad. I have been looking for a new car from the time Optra magnum was launched and I was holding my nerves to wait till Linea is launched and decide on whatever is available that time. Hope Hyundai at least launches i30 around mid-2008.

I don't know why Fiat is delaying so much. They are not making new cars. They are just trying to reproduce here. And for that it takes so much time!!

Would not the 500 gets excise sops, since its less then 4 meters and engine is less then 1.5L for diesel.

CBU's need to pay a much higher rate of import duty. That would push up the price quite a lot.

Also, if they're CBU's, maintenance and spare parts will be exorbitant

I think that the Bravo should have been held until Punto would have proved a success.

What segment would the Bravo cater to?
Bringing it at almost 20 lakhs would be a joke even to consider it. This car has nothing in it that can demand 20 lakhs. One possible (not the only) way it could sell is if they put a boot on it and sell less for about 10 lakh.

i think palio 1.3 will be the hot cake in the line up..This is one of my shortlisted cars for my first car..My only concern about this car is the service and the spare parts availability...
