The speedo was changed to 100 in 2007 models. Mine has 100, not 90.

BTW, great pics, Zodak. It looks like the dash in the S model is dull black, compared to dark black in the sxi. It also looks like the glove box in the S model and the gear console sides are body-coloured. Am I right?
It is good that Ford is now providing 15" alloys, which make the car look better. But if the suspension has not been tweaked, wont ride quality and handling be affected? What about speedo error?

Except for the central console which is in wood in Sxi and metal in 1.6S,everything else is same. There is no difference in quality or color of the dashbord plastic.

IMO, Ford has resorted to cost cutting measures like removal of chrome from side doors and foglamps , removal of indicators from OVRM etc which give a much more polished look to Sxi.

I didn't asked that question and I was more curious about the changes in ECU settings of the car which the dealer denied.

Riju, the changes are purely cosmetic, going by what people here have mentioned. Notably, being the nose bulge, bumper treatment, and repositioning of foglamps, not to forget a new curve on the bottom of the headlamps. The 1.6S gets a much better looking set of alloys as well.

Just for a comparo:

hmm...just another cosmetic change.. but some members reported about suspension reworked to accomodate the 15" wheel..thats good. have they done anything with the engine tune? they claim more mileage!! wish they had bumped up BHP..The S version looks better than the old fiesta for sure !!

The Fiesta 1.6 S model with 101PS petrol Duratec engine, is priced at Rs 7.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai).

Good cosmetic change. Somehow dislike the mahagony touch in the center console for the SXI & 1.6 S versions.

Ford bring on the Ti-VCT 1.6L Duratec for Fiesta S !! Reinvented Ford Fiesta showcased in Geneva : Cars General

..pumps out 115BHP with no change in fuel consumption! This would be as much fun car as the Vtec..

Mahgony is only present in 1.6Sxi whereas 1.6S has metal finish. Somehow the Mahgony was not suting the sporty interiors in 1.6Sxi.

I like the facelift... gives the car a more purposeful look. Any idea what size those tyres are?
Interiors - the wooden panel on the sxi looks nasty, the "honeycomb" instrument panels aren't nice either. I'm sure Ford could picked up better looking dials from their bin.

I wish the 1.6S had more than just the cosmetic upgrades. Rear discs, better rubber, maybe a more aggressive state of tune. Would have made it a much better option. In fact, theoritically, this car should be slower than the zxi & sxi (same engine) since the body kit makes it heavier!
Manufacturers here introduce these so-called "sports" variants without really any sporty features mechanically. Alloys, spoilers and skirts do not a sporty car make! Another case in point is the Cedia "sport".

But overall, the car looks good (the 1.6S). That was one of the problems with the Fiesta before... never really stood out. This upgrade takes care of that problem.

True that these have to be thrown in mainly to complement the more aggressive state of tune of the engine, but it isn't the case here. Wish they had at least brought the 1.6 TDCI in S mode as well. But Ford wouldn't have a clue on how to price it!

I didn't read the entire 20 pages of this thread. So excuse me if it is already mentioned.
I have gone through the website as well as the ad. There is no mention of 1.4 Petrol. Is it still there or discontinued?

Anyway, Ford knows a thing or two about facelifts. Just like Ikno, this also rocks. I hope they did something with the rear seat too

The 1.4 petrol has been discontinued! Somebody mentioned on the forum that the 1.6 engine might have been de-tuned to provide similar fuel economy as the previous 1.4 but there is no confirmation of that.
