Looks good. I am sure SX4 Diesel is going to give its competitors run for there money. It will hit straight away sales of Linea, Vento, Fiesta, Verna & Honda City as well. People believe in Maruti. Many liked SX4 before as well but due to lack of diesel they buy other cars. Now they will buy SX4 for sure.

In my opinion SX4 sales will be around 4 K from March onwards if delivery has no production constraints. Lets see

Good comparo ! And the price is quite close for the trendline / VDi versions! Mileage for SX4 D is 21.5 - just 1 kmpl more than Vento. But for the highline, the price is 9.5L ex showroom and ZDi is 8.62L Ex showroom. Does Vento HL has so many features to price it that high?

It has VW written over it, so junta is swayed by the 'I own a German car' syndrome. Also, it has better quality all around and::: 1.6TDi engine. I think the price difference is justified.

The market needs diesel automatics. There are none currently present. Venra diesel is old school now

if i have the figures right 0-100kmph are : Punto 90 bhp : 17 sec and for SX4 its 14 secs.

Why is Punto so slow?

OT: From where did the time of 17 sec for the Punto 90BHP arrive. As far as I can recollect it was around 15.xx secs.

I expect the SX4 to be around 14.xx sec mark.

Even then SX4 to be much heavier so should be slower.

I understand that you will disclose the fact of test drive at the right time, but, I feel this time it is the Gen2 Swift (could match t he interiors of the car with the Autocar review of the same.
