Come to think of it, if the car were for managements use, why would the badges be taken off? Are they running an evaluation of the Acura for India?

On second thoughts, I hope not. Neither does Acura have the badge value (period) and nor is Honda competent enough to price it properly. After all, they just launched the V6 Accord for 26 lakhs!!

Deisel engine.

The sound coming from the engine bay suggested it had a diesel.

that's what is confirmed, accord 2.2 i-ctdi in this body style as the current model sold in india is not available with this engine anywhere in the world.

oh wow! that would be a competition killer, the diesel accord. But then, weren't they whining about poor quality diesel and all that? And yes, we maybe in for a shock price also (in the accord v6 range??), going by the way Honda has been pricing its cars lately!

Spot on ! Lexus & Acura would not sell much here, though the Lexus will not fare as badly as the Acura if both were to be brought in.

I have always loved their styling - both Lexus & esp Acura. This particular model is no different, though I prefer a subtler grille.

This bodystyle should be launched with a diesel engine. They can badge it as a Honda (Inspire, for example) or a Acura TSX. Problem is the price. I would buy this with a diesel engine with my eyes closed for Rs.20-23 lakhs but with the V6 at 25 lakhs, imagine how Honda would price their diesel....

You echo my apprehensions about Honda and its pricing strategy! This could be launched at 30l, with some plush technologically advanced interiors and a 2.2 diesel. They might justify the price tag with the three letters CBU!

On the other hand, V6 was recently introduced on the TSX in U.S.

There are already photos of CRV with i-CTD engine on TBHP.

Yesterday, while on my way somewhere, I saw this grand big probable new Civic being tested on the Ring Road near southex. This car with no badges, no logos and even the Honda or 'H' logo on the corners of the glasses and center of the wheels was covered with plain stickers tapes. The car carried UP 16 temp plates. Here are the pics I managed to take with my phone.

I may be wrong in saying that its a Civic. Comments please...

yeah, even i saw one a couple of days back getting re-fueled at a petrol pump in Greater Noida. No badge on the car anywhere, but from seeing the rear you could imagine it to be a Honda. Plus, the fuel station wasn't that far from the Honda factory in Greater Noida.

I hope they launch this car, looks sharp, especially from the front.
