I agree, it would make people think twice. Toyota will be worried by Honda's move.

Toyota can't price Altis lower - at least that's what I gather from ACI, Dec 08 edition. Apparently the current prices were only meant to be introductory and they were looking at increasing prices from Jan 09.

Based on Hyundai's declared new price, the CENVAT deduction seems to be only 3.058%. And not 4%.

This is unfair.. How and to whom should/can this be reported? I am in the plan of booking the GLX 1.3 and I don't want to be denied the 4% that Hyundai 'claims' to be passing fully to the customers [they are denying customers of the extra Rs. 4692 that they should be receiving (plus reductions in insurance and road tax too)].

Else they should aleast be daring and claim exact figures, instead of lying that they are passing full benefit to customer. 3.058% is nowhere close to 4%.
well.if 3% bothers you. IF you check honda revised prices according to that the civic prices have dropped only by like 2.21% or something . you will find very few dealers who actually cut the total 4 % of their current price .

Been to Pinnacle Honda (Kolkata). The NHC ZX Exi (not ANHC) is now being offered at 6,82,000 (ex showroom). Exi now comes with body coloured ORVM, CD player and Alloys. Insurance is free with free 2 year warranty (3rd & 4th). Free antirust and paint protection is offered by the dealership. Is it errrrr.. mouthwatering? What say?

Ford's ad for the Ikon TDCi in today's prices shows the price to still be 5.19L. No change in prices even after the in change in VAT.

The Car manufacturers have not completely reflected the tax cut. Only 3% and below is being deducted in case of Fiat, Tata, Chevy. Chevy which has been offering lots of discount is only giving 1.5% tax cut benefit to its customers.

Maruti A-star: The price is similar with all dealers. If you carefully split the Ex-showroom price, Life tax, Insurance and registration(12%) you will find that around 4000 rs is unaccounted. The maruti sales man says its for bribing the registration official. Thats sad.

Any Maruti representatives here: If you want further calrification on this, I can provide detailed calculation.

Audi, Volkswagen cut prices by up to Rs 2.79 lakh

Audi, Volkswagen cut prices by up to Rs 2.79 lakh- Automobiles-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

NEW DELHI: German car makers Audi and Volkswagen today cut the prices of their products by up to Rs 2.79 lakh and Rs 80,859 respectively in

response to the government's move to cut CENVAT by four per cent.

Audi has reduced the prices of its luxury sedans A8, A6 and A4 by Rs 2.79 lakh, Rs 1.51 lakh and Rs 1.21 lakh, while the company's sports-utility vehicle Q7 would be cheaper by Rs 1.85 lakh, Audi India said in a statement.

"We welcome this decision by the government of India. Audi believes in providing value to the customers and hence the entire four per cent reduction will be passed on to our customers," Audi India Managing Director Benoit Tiers said.

Likewise, Volkswagen has slashed the prices of its sedan Jetta between Rs 46,086 and Rs 57,814.

The car maker's luxury sedan Passat would now be cheaper by Rs 75,674-Rs 80,859 across India, it added.

"We are happy to pass on the full benefit of the duty reduction to our valued Indian customers. Going forward, it will be our endeavour to support government initiatives aimed at arresting the economic downturn," Volkswagen Group India President and Managing Director Joerg Mueller said.

The dream of owning an A4 is now cheaper by a Lakh!!!

Hi,

Fabia 1.2 HTP Classic Petrol - 618000 [now the starting variant]
Fabia 1.2 HTP Ambiente Petrol - 692200 [mid variant]
Fabia 1.4 MPi Elegance Petrol - 811520 [top end variant]

Fabia 1.4 TDi Ambiente Diesel - 829xxx
Fabia 1.4 TDi Ambiente Diesel - 89xxxx

These are Bangalore prices. Chennai prices should be a minimum of 15000 lesser than these, starting from base variant [owing to high road tax in B'lore].

If you still need, I can confirm Fabia Diesel prices tomorrow.
