Yes and No

1956 Dukar Fiat - got if from Dad - Nothing can beat that one - still have it.

1998 - Bought a Cielo AT (GLX -top model) - Pre owned Car. Paid 2.5L sold it in 2008. YES would repeat the decision, but should have sold it earlier say around 2006 start.

2001 - LX model Safari - YES would repeat the decision, (got it just before my marriage, still have it. Would next time choose atleast the mid level spec model if not the top most model.

2007 Dec - Laura L&K DSG AT - YES and NO - Will live with it for now, but the current fealing after the reliability issues is that should not have pumped in so much money into something thats not been too reliable.

Yes, Omni 2000 and Santro 2002. Never the one I own now, Aveo. :-)
No GM products even in the future.

Such a nice thread. Been pondering over some of the buying/ selling mistakes i made. I wouldnt buy palio & Mhawk vlx - rest all so far no regrets. Most loved accent crdi till date . Shouldnt have sold off Verna VGT SX ABS. miss it the most. Would have preferred safari vx 4*4 over vlx.

If you ask me then I would definitely buy the old Amby. A car that I just love. My grandfather bought Ambassador during the years it was rejoicing its success in India. Though we have now sold it off because it was nothing more comfortable and relaxing then enjoying a pleasurable ride in the Ambassador.

Well I surely buy my 03 Santro.

A sheer value for money. Better than any other car (even compare to 1 segment hire also).

So far trouble free driving, had few of my best days in it.

2007 May SX4: Yes and most definitely yes. Still no car to defy its price performance and feature points. More importantly it suits my use case.

Having owned several cars in the past, the only one I would buy again is the VW Golf GTi Mk2 - even though it was the "poor cousin" 8-valve model.

Why? Because it had the best driving position ever, fantastic chassis, solid build, interiors from one class above and spartan equipment.

If I can go back in time I would still buy the same cars because of how good the decisions the 2 cars have turned out to be. Given a different budget, then I would have bought something equally reliable or the same things with a lot of mods.

05 Octy vRS: Yes & No: Yes for being a wonderful car, No for its reliability and shoddy service
10 Chevy Cruze: Yes i'm proud of this acquisition but GM service work is shoddy

I would the same Alto. I don't see time travel helping me in getting more money. Of course, if I had the option of 'bo budget caps', then the list is endless...

2003 - Used 800 - NO - Had bad back-pains after driving long distances other than that it was a good car sold to gather money for WagonR.

2004 - New WagonR - YES - Very good car one of the best hatchbacks in my mind did not want to sell it but had to for the down payment on Accent.

2005 - New Accent VIVA CRDi - YES - Very good car it was cheaper than the Accent sedan CRDi with almost the same specs and engine still have it.

2007 - New Indigo LX Diesel - NO - Suspension/Noise level/Break/Rusting problem all in the short time of 6 months :( sold it after a year.

  • 2000 Accent 1.5 GLS: No, I made a mistake here. I should have picked a Ford Ikon 1.6.
  • 2002 Indica DLS: Yes, the only Diesel options were Uno and Indica. This car served me well for 5 years and 150,000kms.
  • 2006 Elantra CRDi: Yes, this is one car i want to buy again, even if it is available now.
  • 2008 Swift VDi ABS: Yes, Only if a ZDi version is available and rattles are sorted out.
  • 2009 Punto M-Jet EP: Yes, I love this car except the cost cutting and After sales support.
