Also knowing Skoda, relieve many people of their savings, and cause some to `kill' themselves. Perhaps Skoda will price lower than cost and then make outrageous profits on service.

Very exciting - there's been a void in the indian market where we haven't had a potential sub 10 Lac SUV. I really hope Skoda India doesn't make the same mistake and overprice this one too!

Diesel power, selectable 4X4 and a very smooth ride = sure shot hit!

If it is a 5 door small SUV, it is worth even if it is priced at 13-14 lakhs.
In picture it is 5 door version. Look close, how neatly they had hidden that back door handle.

Cheers

Hopefully they will launch it next year and at this price point. They delayed the Fabia by two years and then priced it wrong.

I feel a locally made Grand Vitara will kill the others in the segment.. it should be less than 10L...
Skoda will price it 13L and compete with captiva... but looks good though !!

Hey Mahesh,

Why do you say it won't go well? This vehicle is huge. Much bigger than Fusion.

Found these pics in another thread.

I like the way the fog lamps are integrated between the bumper and the headlights.

How many cars did we predict (or at least hoped) will kill the competition but did not take too long to attain martyrdom? Fusion did not go down too well despite bringing in the diesel avatar later. Well, it was overpriced but then even Yeti would be knowing Skoda pricing. The news report says 10L range which I think may be quite right. That is, say 10.95L in the cheapest Skoda car city for the very base version without any meat on the bones Talk of 4x4 and all fancy gadgetry could well push the on-road price to the CRV near abouts, or certainly in the 16L bracket. For that matter our own Safari starts from 6.5L (It takes little to reclaim your life!) however, the top end on-road in the most expensive city (that is for car taxes and registration) touches 13+ L! Like Fabia it will have its own niche customer base but that's about it, my humble opinion! Mind you, the article does say it is not really an SUV but more a cross-over. But then yes I can almost hear you, in the range of 10L there are probably no completely 100% SUVs in India. Doesn't Safari come really really close to being one if not one that qualifies completely??

Having said all that, bring it on Skoda. The more the merrier. Will probably have the Tata & Mahindra to up their SUV games to the next level. We are loving it

This year really huge number of cars are ready to hit the Indian car market. Few have ben introduced and many are in pipeline for launch by the year end. Yeti is a SUV i believe. I have heard that even Sanata Fe is going to be launched this year.

the way they have integrated the door handle is pretty funky.. awesome. anywyas, on the other hand, will the public be ready for an SUV that does not push everyone else off the road?
to me it looks like an overgrown Fabia, but then its just me

Skoda might price it in Captiva/GV/CRV territory, rather than in Scorpio/Safari.
