June release :
The Ritz will be launched prior to Honda's small car Jazz, due to hit the roads in June, and Fiat's premium hatchback, Grande Punto. The Ritz has cleared all the homologation tests and was approved by the International Centre of Automotive Technology (iCAT) at Manesar in Haryana last week for launch in the Indian market.

Saw a convoy of 2 white Grande Puntos + 1 green UV-A being driven here today. I know they were traveling in a convoy because apart from obviously driving together, they also stopped together.
No pics though, as I was in the company bus.

Somewhere I read that, G.Punto is ready for launch, but FIAT India is in the process of starting 110 more dealerships in various places across the country and to ensure that it gets due attention.

Saw in today's DNA that the Punto diesel will be coming in third quarter, that is during oct09-dec09 period . I thought they will launch in June .

Or is it the paper means USA 3rd quarter which is Jul09-sep09 ?

"There are still many car makers in the country who do not offer diesel variants in some segments. The compact car segment is a typical example. However, this will change going ahead with diesel engines now becoming suited for all kinds of cars," said Rajeev Kapoor, president and CEO, Fiat India. The company recently launched its premium C segment Fiat Linea Diesel version and will also launch a diesel version of its premium hatchback Grand Punto in the third quarter. Around 70% sales from all Fiat India models (with both petrol and diesel variants) come from diesel variants.

Fiat team seems to be getting serious about customer satisfaction.

They have already started assembly of Grande Punto as a test project in the Linea assembly line.

Here are a few pics of the Grande Punto Test Vehicle.
is it just me or nobody else could also see the pictures mentioned in the post
