ShaKo,

Please quote the source of your information if possible. The problem is that in the last few years we have had enough speculation about Fortuner so it is going to be hard to believe that it is actually going to come in Sept '08

Innova - looks? what looks. ever seen anybody giving way to Innova on the road? Try hooting anyone from behind in a Safari and then see the result..

I agree GD Bhai !!!

Safari is a much more of a looker. Innova is basically a Cab / taxi.

I agree it is very refined and comfortable. Also one of the best VFM Diesel MUV's available out there.

Innova - great interiors, excellant positioning of AC vents in 2.5G & V models, a very refined 2.5L Turbo DI engine, but horrible looks.

Toyota killed this powerplant with a horrendous body

Even for the heck of it if Toyota had put the body of a Landcruiser II instead of the current one in Innova and named it anything, I would've picked it up with my eyes shut..

Guys - How ever good the Scorpio/Safari look, however ugly the Innova looks, if today i had to put my money on a 7 seater it has to be a Innova. Quality wise Tata and Mahindra still have a long way to go, and Toyota's Innova is a fantastic machine, just the diesel is a bit slow but Petes rectifies that.

But innova has a pathetic pricing. OTR with basic config is 8.5L. as compared to Scorpio/Safari in less than 7.75 lakhs max.

gd, fine i agree with you safari stands out due to its rugged looks but Innova looks apart conceptually and scores excellent in terms of refinement levels similar to Odessey.

I agree !! But then you see this is what Toyota charges for that wonderful diesel engine.

In fact the G4 Model is priced just around 9.2 Lacs after discounts OTR ( Haryana ) - Other states would be nearing 10 Lacs OTR. The only thing that G4 Model has over the other models is Rear AC Vents & Rear Wiper.

The V Model is way Overpriced by 1.2 Lacs more ( Airbags, Alloys ) !!!

But still Innova is one of the hottest selling MUV's with fantastic Resale values mainly because it dominates the Cab / Taxi Rental Market !!

Also one more thing in Innova's favour is that I have never ever seen anyone complaining about it.

I am in the market for a MUV / SUV - I have just about made up my mind on the Safari / Innova to buy in January. I simply love the Safari BUT I am very afraid that if something wrong goes then I will be dissappointed.

I have been closely following all Members Threads here who have brought the new 2.2.

Good point concerning looks. Why is it that people make way for a Safari but not for a Scorpio or an Innova? Is there something different one feels when looking at a Safari in the RVM? Comments welcome....

One question though - between the three which is a more dependable vehicle? Dependable as is in the one with the least probability to breakdown in the middle of night in the middle of nowhere with your family - alongwith the least trips to the workshop!

Now guys I know that everyone will jump up and say Toyota for dependability - however I'd request you guys to give a fair shot.

If you are talking about reliability or dependability, its the Toyota.
I am yet to see a safari owner here who did not have to go to the workshop to get problems fixed in a new vehicle.
When you buy a safari or a Scorpio, you have to be prepared for niggles. When you buy the innova, you can be rest assured that problems will be rare.
