Well well....if this is really the safari, it better not look like that from the front. 3 quarters and butt view look nice.

That spy pic looks more like a Xover, rather than a Safari. If that IS the Safari, then it has lost all its looks.

OMG, I dont want that to be a Safari. Infact it doesnot look like one. For me it looks more like a Innova.
Is this news authentic?

But in my mind, it will not make sense to transport and test a pre-production model (or was it built there maybe?!) all the way in Europe, especially when the launch date is one and a half years away.
Whatever it is, the front looks ghastly! More like a Reva. The new Safari will, I am sure, be far more macho and have butch styling.
Tata's are planning to get into the American and European markets with the new generation Safari, Xenon etc. I guess it makes sense to test the vehicles in real time enviornments and gearing up for the safety and other requirements of these mature markets. I agree that this vehicle is quite sober for the next generation Safari. It looks too MPV-ish to me. I like my current safari better!

Come on guys!
Before we panic, we should all understand that these are spyshots and is not connected to any authenticity from Tata. The chances of this being a Tata vehicle is 75%. This thingy being a Tata Safari? 25%. That's all what I believe from spyshot news clippings.

Its highly unlikely that the pics from post 134 are the new Safari's. Come on people - thats a van there - like the Innova and most certainly not an SUV's

How do we know that its a TATA? The ugly front grill or the rear taillights which look similar to that of Sumo Grande?

The vehicle is surely huge.

Its Tata Xover my friend.

But I must appreciate that it has come up very well looking at the side profile pic. IMO atleast better than Ingenio when you compate the spy pics

I think it is the Xover based on spy pics previously posted on the forum.

Guys, Guys, Guys..........

The new TATA Safari will share the same platform that of Freelander

TATA doesnt need to redesign a new Safari. They already have one (Freelander)

Also this will help cut costs+economies of scale, instead of redesigning a new vehicle from scratch.

Disagree....

Sumo Grande was styled internally by Tata at its design centre in England, along with the Xenon.

The Xover concept was indeed designed by IDEA, however when I say German assisted I don't mean cosmetic design... I mean more with structural design, handling etc.

Saw the Xover/Safari today, and its interiors were quite a bit better than this plastic slab.
The two tone theme is present, with nice, clean dials and big centre console finished in dark plastic. Overall, it is capable of achieving good-ish speeds rapidly.

Agreed!

I was under the impression that Sumo Grande is the Sumo successor designed by German engineering firm IAV GmbH, referred to here:

The new MPV referred to in the article is yet to materialise.

Now's my turn to disagree....

Sumo grande and Xenon have been styled by the Concept Group which though based in UK isn't owned by the Tatas; at least not yet. The UK company acquired by the Tatas was INCAT, not Concept Group.

Well this is definitely a tata vehicle, the wing mirrors are the same used on the safari !!! But this definitely should not be the new safari. Looks more like the Xover spied, as the dashboard looks to be the same.

Its surely a TATA, but which one is the question.
I hope its not the new Safari. The safari is very Handsome and Bold looking.

The pics look more like a MUV in competition to INNOVA rather than an SUV.
Its dash looks very crude and very edge'ee. I hope they work more on that.
