Are you kidding? The Polo probably has better build than both the Punto and i20. Its a VW strength.

@ McLaren, may be better than i20 but not Punto. Punto is as solid as rock and most refreshing design.
Polo seems to be a plain jane with not so attracting engine options, lets see how Indian consumers respond to it.

Looks great . The interiors look as if they would last a hundred years . Very solid and germanic . The lights look Audi like . This might trigger the decline of the already low selling cousin sister Fabia I guess .

The 3 pot petrol at 75 bhp is adequate at best . They should launch a more powerful petrol.

Kudos to VW for the PoloCup . At least some manufacturer is showing interest in Indian Motorsport . Tata and Suzuki should have been in INRC by now .

Nice pics of the Polo. Now to see how their dealer and A.S.S. network pans out. This along with pricing will make or break the car.

The brochure on the VW India - Polo website mentions a 1.6L. So pocket conscious buyers get the 75 bhp 1.2 and enthusiasts get the 105 bhp 1.6

Did he visit any other stall ? GM's Chevy Beat stall?

Just curious, as to what is he looking at. May get some pointers for future Tata vehicles.

There was a joke somewhere on the net today that "Polo looks good, lets go to Das auto and book one".

The engine options seem to be more attractive than Punto.

Both the engines on Punto's are for the conservative drivers whereas VW is offering engines for the conservative drivers and for the enthusiasts too !

I thought the 1.6 was a petrol??

Or is this a typo?

no typo from my side!

The red car seems to be the Highline variant and the silver one could be Comfortline variant with the optional accessories package.

The 1.6L petrol is coming to India as it is stated in their product brochure.

I'm really confused. So are we getting a 1.6l petrol or a 1.6l diesel?

What I understood from the posts is:
1.6L diesel is in the Polo Cup
1.6L petrol will be a high end version launched around mid 2010.
